At the 360 launch event in Japan, a Microsoft exec, Yoshihiro Maruyama, proclaimed: "The reign of the empire won't last much longer."

He may be right, as Nintendo seems to be making all the right moves. At the Shinjuku Yodobashi Camera (the premier waiting line in all of Japan), the PSP launch event reported approximately 1000 people in-line, while the DS had only a mere 100.

It's amazing what Nintendo has done w/ the DS's small horse power (that means software gets churned out sooner). If i didn't know any better, i'd say Nintendo is pulling a PSOne on Sony's N64-like PSP. The age of the hardcore gamer may be over in one country, but it will definitely be interesting to see how the West reacts to all this fuss. At least Nintendo's got the 1st-person shooter down...

In Japan? Yes, they will be first place as long as they have brain training and the like.
USA? No. PS3 will win here, it has a decent of beating 360 though. No matter what Rev WILL outsell GCN in the longrun.

In Japan they might. They will NOT anywhere else.

Why couldn't they? Sony is not invincible. DS has shown that.

Will they? I don't think so. But to say they WILL NOT is being a little jaded.

WHY DO PEOPLE CONTINUE TO CLAIM NINTENDO IS MAKING ALL THE RIGHT MOVES?!?!?

Is the DS doing well? Sure it is - it's definitly beating the PSP. What does that have to do with Sony's supposed empire though? Did Sony not have an empire before PSP even existed? The empire being mentioned is Sony's console empire obviously.

In that case ... what do we really know about PS3 at the moment? Not all that much, at least in regards to games and GPU. What do we know about Revolution? Basically nothing at all.

Nintendo's moves have definitely got people excited, but let's not jump the gun here.

Don't you know the handhelds indicate console success? Just look at the GBA and GC...

If you think Sony's goal with PSP is merely to steal Nintendo's market share in the portable market, think again.
