Apparently there are also porn artists on tumblr getting hit by DMCA claims filed 'Nintendo', but they found out that the claims are falsified. It's difficult to actually tell whether these claims are actually from Nintendo or people impersonating it to get rid of stuff they don't like.

The US really needs to fix the DMCA's lack of punishment for false claims. Punishment for false claims technically exists, but it's basically toothless.
