Interesting.

I wonder if the developer interests -- which currently seem to favor PSP -- will slide in the face of these ostensibly opposite consumer interests.

I think Nintendo's got the PSP in check. Cheaper gamers can get a GBASP and less cheaper gamers can get a DS. Its two products versus one essentially.

This poll though is pretty useless considering Sony hasn't even shown their games in full playable form. The poll done after TGS (if there is one) will be a much better sign of how developers and the general public feel about the PSP.

Same goes for DS actually, only partial demos and in progress hardware design were at E3. TGS might not be the real judging point (especially if there's a SpaceWorld) but hopefully some 3rd parties will show more of their wares at the show...

Well, the DS games were not shown in full playable form either. IMHO they were early concept demos (of course, more develped than the PSP ones). A DS game can't be played like Metroid, it is too annoying.

It'd atleast give the PSP better footing. Even Kaz has said that it'll come down to software. And just announcing a bunch of games that people might be interested in isn't enough to get them excited. They need to see and play those games. Neither can really be judged fairly now though, especially the PSP.

Yeah TGS will definitely be PSP's time to shine, by default really with Nintendo not attending.
