I think they need Undertale. It would sell a lot on the system, it's perfect to play on the small screen and it's a game that Nintendo's typical audience would absolutely love. I'd buy it for sure.

When Toby Fox said he wanted to bring it on Wii U (or 3DS, i don't remember) but couldn't do it himself, wasn't there an indie team that offered (via Twitter) to do the port? They should do it for the Switch and have it ready for d1.

Someone from NOA was in direct contact with the dev over Twitter a few months back. I really wouldn't be surprised if it weren't one of the big indie reveals on the 12th.

Edit: To your other point, there were actually several indie port houses that were offering up services.

Now to see which website takes the bait and writes an article about Owlboy on Switch. Though it seems to me no one cares about this game anymore already

Speaking of indies, I know of One that is coming and will Be a pretty good get for Nintendo. I think it is launch day, however could be launch window. To me, it's the most exciting game that I've heard is coming. Though I'm big on 2D platformers generally so...

Anyway I agree it should be a pretty good system for indie games. I love Shovel Knight so I hope that is coming as others have said too. I'll buy it again to take on the go if it comes.

So Shantae is coming ;P.

Edit: I bet you're trolling and it's Mighty No. 9 ;(

I honestly hope the Switch doesn't have a browser or Netflix, etc etc. Shit is wasted space and require unnecessary resources held up for their use. Particularly a browser.

This is a gaming system, leave it at that. Most people already have far better devices that let them do those things.

if anything I really liked the Wii U's screenshot functionality where you used the web browser and uploaded it to whatever site you wanted

Are you all being serious? Do you have any idea how many people complained when the Vita TV didn't support Netflix? If you don't want it, don't install it.

Yeah, wiiu browser is great for youtube on the tv, videos in general, it has that great curtains button which I use all the time.

Also great for netflix cause my kids can use it easily.

The Wii U browser was my Chromecast before the Chromecast was a thing. I watch hundreds and hundreds of hours of YouTube and Giant Bomb premium HD videos on my TV thanks to it. Amazing software.

Yeah get rid of that bloat. We have those litterally on everything.

Bloat? I mean you aren't required to have the apps if you don't want them (they could even make the browser optional). I don't see the issue with giving options, especially when this device is in the tablet format. I literally use 90% of my iPad Mini for browsing, Netflix, Hulu, and Plex, and I doubt I'm alone with that. If the Switch offered that functionality whatsoever, it could replace my iPad Mini when I'm traveling. It'd actually be pretty nice.

I'll be interested to see how Nintendo officially markets this device after January 12. I hope they realize they will be competing with the tablet market to an extent and not having at least an optional browser and some mainstream video apps..could be not so great. I'm still day 1 no matter what, but it would be disappointing to me a bit. Not really a big deal to carry the iPad with me too, but it would be nice to consolidate.

Being able to advertise a primary gaming console with secondary tablet functionality could be a missing piece in the market for those who enjoy gaming on their current tablets (which are really computing devices with secondary gaming functionality) but not the other tablet stuff as much. As much as mobile games have evolved throughout the years, current tablets will not be able to compete with the Switch in that sense if it had some secondary tablet stuff going on. IMO, it would be smart for Nintendo to attempt tapping into this market.

I really hope the NS has a browser. It would kinda suck if it didn't and I think a lot of folks would be disappointed. It's a bad move by Nintendo if that ends up being the case.

Always seemed like a pointless feature for a console, particularly redundant in the smart phone age.

I use the Wii U browser quite often even though I have a browser on a bunch of devices. I think having one on the NS would be great when out and about. Especially if you already have the device in your hand and need to look something up. It'd be easier to just use a browser on the system than having to pick up your phone/tablet.

If Nintendo wants to market the Switch as a portable home console, I would think including the features of modern home consoles to be wise. A browser is one of those features.

Would be a mistake to exclude one completely imo.

All y'all using outdated DBZ references when clearly undocked Switch is Cabba & XBO is SS Vegeta then docked Switch is SS Cabba and Scorpio is SSB Vegeta.

Sounds nice in theory but if the Switch browser is even a fraction of a second slower than the browser on my phone it's useless to me. Plus not having my Google log in with all my data makes it even more inconvenient. If Switch really is your only device with a browser (how is that even possible nowadays) then sure, it could be useful.

Please help me with my bad english
So many TVs comes with Netflix these days, if not there's the Chromecast. I really don't mind the Switch focusing all it's resources on what it does best: gaming.

This.
It wouldn't be the end of the world but it should have one.

Having Netflix doesn't somehow make it a worse gaming machine though.

It would probably be a slower browser and a slower process overall to switch back and forth between game and browser. Also not as worthwhile when you can keep a page open on your phone and keep the gaming device gaming.

Personally Steam browser is the only one I use over a phone during gaming.

Need a browser to watch porn and Ed Sheeran music videos on TV. Don't have time for any other nonsense plugged into my TV.

The Wii U browser was amazing.

If people are concerned that the browser would add extra RAM usage to the OS... I highly doubt it. There's practically guaranteed to be some sort of social platform, whether it's Miiverse or something new. There will already be RAM set aside for using that while a game is running, and there's no reason to use separate RAM pools between that and the browser.

What, now that Netflix allows downloads on mobile platforms Switch NEEDS that shit. Couldn't give a shit about the browser but the value proposition drops considerably for me if I can't Netflix on the thing. I've held off on buying a tablet for this very reason.

A browser would cost them pennies, but I think they are more worried about it being an entry point for Homebrew-piracy etc...

Which makes me curious how they'll handle it down the road.
If it comes with a browser, it'll be the first thing hackers and such will look into to see if the backdoors from the Wii U one are still there.

Nintendo recently release that hacker program to spot vulnerabilities but right now it's only focused on 3DS.
If they were smart, they'd do the same for Switch before release.
