non cheating rr6 players wanted

well, so far every online game ive played has involved the dickheads who wait at the starting line. for the time out to kick in so they can race they race the bots and come first easily. i wanna unlock the online cars but i wanna have fun while doing it, not racing dickheads.

any regular rr6ers up for some games soon? some that need to unlock some cars aswell?

If I ever get my 360 back I will play with you too. Online is pretty broken on this. I normally dont play because of the stupid bug when file sharing with the PC.

add otakugamer to your friends list. I own the game and play it occasionally and don't cheat. Cheating is only a fun thing to do if everyone is doing it at the same time and it isn't for a ranking or something. Otherwise it worthless.

Dunno when I'll play (Long story, had most of the Xplorer unlocked, and then had to format the HDD.. Stupid MS "Support"), but feel f ree to add me.

My free gold trial just ran out today, other than that I would have loved to play. Why did you not want to have fun yesterday rod, why???

:lol

12month sub. STAT

Is this game especially susceptible to lag? I played a game with terrene the other night (my first online RR6 experience) and it was laggy as all hell. I know for a fact that both of our connections are more than satisfactory.

It's been said many times, there's a bug if you have your PC connected to the 360 (for music playing and such). It'll be really bad with that on, so disconnect any PCs, and it should play silky smooth.

Ah, sorry for making you repeat this then. Unfortunately, I'm not willing to fiddle about with my fancy-pants home network to play RR online. The achievements don't mean THAT much to me. Shame on Namco for this, though.

glad I was able to play with people who were in it for fun, I kinda figured the game
would turn to shit when I noticed one or two people would either exploit the latency bug or stay at the starting line.

Disconnect the media center connection from the 360 by hitting the appropriate option on the dashboard, no fiddling with the network needed.

I'll add you to mine later. My tag is rlench though

What's the bug about staying at the starting line? I haven't heard anything about this yet

suppose your racing with 12 people. and at the start, 4 of you take off, like normal, but the rest will stay back at the starting line. the game will think that they are lagging, hence no movement of theyre cars, because they purposely sit at the starting line not pressing anything, and the game will time out on them and give them CPU cars to race against. the cpu cars are piss easy to defeat, and then on your last lap even if your the first car in the race, coming first, if one of the other "timed out" cars is coming first in THEYRE race against the CPU cars, they will show as "first" when the race is finished. so essentially, they get the win, against cpu cars, not against people.

Is it possible to purposely crash/reverse into them so that they do move and are forced to race? :lol

I never heard of that, would defintiely explain the lag I have been experiencing. Maybe it will be fixed with the dashboard update.

Thanks. I've never heard of it before and, in my limited experience with it online, I never saw it happen.

I can't believe are sad enough to actually do that :lol

also, to unlock the online won cars, do you need to win the 10 (or whatever the requirement) races? or just participate

Just participate. I think there's 23/24 cars you can get online, so that's 240 races for you ;)

Anyone who likes Ridge, and doesn't cheat, is welcome to add me.

jonny, il play you sometime soon, and also, have you got many of the online unlocked cars? and those achievments like the "no nitrous" and "no collisions", does that imply EVERY race, without hitting something and EVERY race without using nitrous? thats like 200+ races!!! :|

For the no nitrous and no collisions you have to beat every course in SINGLE RACE mode, with every class (i.e. 1,2,3,4,special). You'll see the icons lightup at the bottom of the screen when you select each map.

oh thats ok then. i thought you had to do world xplorer without nitrous and no collisions. are you attempting these? if so, how far are you into it and how much time has it taken you to get that far?

the no nitrous and no collision achievements can be accomplished in the single player campaign.
and for the no nitrous achievement, I don't even think you need beat every race, just a certain route on the explorer will do.

I'm not doing them until I do everything else. I at least want to get all the special cars and beat xplorer mode before I get to that.

I seriously think the Ridge Racer achievements are probably the most time and effort consuming of all of the released 360 titles (at least of those that are achievable --stuff like Quake 4's first place in the entire world or Smash TV one credit are pretty much impossible :p). I give serious props to those who have more achievement points in RR than me, and I've only got 157 points. I haven't played it in a few weeks though, the DS has been distracting me from my 360 for a while now.

If you're from GAF, and your gamertag is different than your GAF name, make sure you tell me. I've gotten invites from a few people that I didn't accept because I wasn't sure who they were.

I've accepted your friend request rod. We should have a ridge racer night this week , there seems to be enough of us. Hopefully we dont' suffer catastrophic lag or anything.

Count me in for a RR6 night. I'm pretty close to having every car unlocked in this game, just need about 30 more races online to have the full set. I'd love to just throw down with some forum goers though.

Also, I've earned about 40% of the No-collision races, but once you start class 3 and above, some tracks can feel downright impossible to complete without rubbing paint wih something. The no-nitrous achievement is easy though, just very time-consuming.

Oh and my tag is 'No Depth'.

early prediction: brandon f will pwn us all. havent you done some of the hardest shit in the game? i remember reading jonnyram saying something along the lines...
