HAHAHA

That's what Capcom gets. Now, give us Okami on the GC!

Capcom gets...what? They sold out of their Premium version and MORE...and somehow this means Capcom should bring Okami to the GC?

I don't think NPD counts second-hand sales, cus that would kind of defeat the purpose of it tracking 'sales' in a profit sense.

NPD doesn't track everything. What they do is take what they know factually, and create a basis from that. So the areas they don't cover is estimated on trend, and it seems they over-estimated. Or maybe there were differnet types of 'premium editions' or someshit, or maybe NPD lumped some other form of RE4 to the premium edition category or something...

Oh yeah, let's release a new game on a dead system. Real smart.
Well you better start telling that to all the developers making 360 games. Seeing as it sold worse than a dead system.

NPD is supposed to factor returns into their numbers. The back of the LE case clearly states that it contains an art cel, and the art cell numbers run # out of 60,100. I can't see them making another LE case with that taken off, so either Capcom has cells that are unnumbered/duplicates (possible but unlikely), or NPD fucked up. This is kind of an interesting situation, because here we have basically solid PROOF that NPD numbers aren't accurate, which we already knew, but this is off by a fair amount. And when you consider that their number for this has to be off by something like 15% (which will grow as the LE has more sales in the coming months), it really makes you wonder how accurate they are at all.

I'd almost gauruntee that Okami would sell more on the Revolution than it would on the PS2, despite the massive userbase difference.

The gameplay/style is perfectly suited to the Revolution, and as a launch/early title it'd recieve more press from people picking up the system hungry to buy games.

On PS2, that game is just going to get lost in the glut of last-gen releases.

Plus it has that whole painting thing. Which is kinda neat.

Who says Capcom won't release an enhanced version for Revolution?

This *is* Capcom, after all!

there the other cell that only had 15,000 made.

Problem is the Nintendo audience is they're generally pretty frosty when it comes to hand-me-downs or ports, even if they're enhanced. The Sonic games seem to be the odd exception.

Plus you'd want content during the launch window.

Skies of Arcadia and PSO did well in their Gamecube ports. I'm not sure of the LTDs on the Dreamcast versions so I don't know which sold higher, but the GCN versions still sold well.

But your point is well taken. It was a pretty lame move on Capcom's part.

GC version of SoA outsold the DC version by about 40k.

PSO (the entire series) hit just around 400k-500k on the GC, almost matching the DC's sales for the series (and when you think about it... being only a year to sell, was quite amazing).

MS screwed up the launch, and there aren't any available. But of course, when a system that's $30 used sells over 600K during the biggest shopping period of the year, there's reason to celebrate. The Cube is back! Bring on those exclusives.

NPD counts used sales for all of you playing the home game.

I believe Xbox360's poor preformance is not due to the fact of shortages, but the fact not many people are interested in the console.

I see plenty of system at the stores, atleast the retard versions...

400-500k? Is that worldwide? I thought the US sales for the whole PSO series on GCN was only 272k.

The amount of units new or used wasn't part of my point, Anihawk. The Cube selling anything at any price is purely incidental, since Nintendo isn't supporting it, third parties aren't supporting it, and defending it or calling for an exclusive of any kind is ridiculous. It's a dead system.

Even without MS, the Xbox has more games coming to it.

This obviously means NPD has been wrong the entire generation and that Nintendo, in fact, has a substantial lead in home console marketshare. Profits do not lie.

That's a bunch of crap. Call any EBGames/Gamestop in the country and ask them about "interest level".

I've seen dozens of walk-ins and phone calls that asked about 360 availability. They usually get told "February".

I was under the impression Nintendo had a couple games coming out for it this year, as well as a couple exclusives from third parties.

Can't say the same thing about the Xbox. No third party exclusives or Nintendo games there.

Yeah, we've been getting less and less of those, and more and more of "when can I preorder a PS3?"

I'm not sure what third party exclusives you're referring to, but I'm referring to the kind of support that would imply Nintendo still cares about the system.

There were holiday sales because there is supply. The Xbox has been discontinued, and the Xbox 360 has severe shortages. There is no supply.

Yeah, we've been getting less and less of those, and more and more of "when can I preorder a PS3?"

Yeah, those guys are being told Spring. That'll be fun.

Who cares about cost fact is there are more newe GCn owners in dec than people with 360s.

I can only think of two-three. Naruto, Baten Kaitos II, and Harvest Moon: MM. YEAH BABY YEAH.

Yeah, those guys are being told Spring. That'll be fun.

May, the month a little thing called E3 takes place in, is during Spring, which is when Gamestop started taking preoders on the 360.

It sounds funny, but it's really not relevant to any kind of next-generation momentum Nintendo could have.

Reggie likes the numbers, though, so long as he doesn't have to bring any others into the discussion.
