Transgenderism is a legitimate medical condition, despite the political games WHO wants to play. The technical term is “gender dysphoria”, which means the gender perceived by the brain doesn’t match the physical gender.

Yes, they are the same thing, but the terms “shemale” and “tranny” are apparently considered offensive nowadays. I don’t know the history of how that came about, whether it’s due to historical use as derogatory terms or the association with porn.

You know what i find scary? That within 45 minutes they chalked up nearly 400 responses.

So obviously that entire thread is a pond full of fish taking the bait and they can now cull the herd. I am glad that they are so transparent about this. I also find it very interesting how the site continues to out-do itself when it comes to ''things i can be upset over.''

And it is up to us (both old and new users, but longtime lurkers) to keep it that way.

This is exactly true. In this, i think its disappointing that a staff member had to step in. Shaming users isn't what we do, but providing a critical note where else only a screech is written. I don't give a frying pan what gender people are, but what i care about is the quality of the moderation and how skilled you are at it. And no - Constantly locking threads and blanket banning people does not make any member of The Names look like they are an expert of the craft. All it shows is that you don't moderate with mind, but with emotion. You let feelings play the final part in every single reactionary decision instead of reason, dialogue, and rationale. The staff should be subject to feedback, instead of feeding its hypocritical back.

And that's why critical notes are made. Because The Names's emotions clearly reject any instant where critical thinking is required. Its why The Names need to lay off, and be replaced with people who don't moderate on emotions, but by clear, open rules, where no user has to fear his own words or has to know the hidden rulesets behind the scenes.

I do not think it's this hard, it has to do more with it being an key to an agruement or offensive word.

I am not sure how its pathetic protecting their privacy let alone adhering to the rule of ''Not making it personal''. There are also multiple people with 20k posts so i could have referred to them aswell. There is a reason why i give them these terms. Ill happily invite you to addressing this one where i addressed you prior.

And ofcourse Excelsiorlef has an opinion on this - She is pushing 20k posts at this point, in 8 months of ERA activity. You aint telling me that is not dedication. Too bad she aint using that obvious time sink to actually advance trans and mental health causes, rather contributing to a movement of anger and rage, without the movement even properly knowing what they are so upset over.

I understand the feeling; spite. It is wrong and dammit I do NOT want it to happen but at the same time after all the stuff that's happened and how they go about it there's that tiny vindictive asshole in me that I try to shove down that wants to see it when in reality it's the last thing I want.

The worst part is that in a (hopeful) Democratic win the assumption from them will be that the majority of people (likely from the right) are turning leftward when its more in line of the right punishing its own. It's what happened in 2008 when Obama won big and there was this assumption that overall things were going to turn better because the country had turned left and then 2010 happened.

I have never thought Trump would be a good president, and I still don't think he is due to the divisiveness, which to be fair is significantly amplified by biased media. But the other candidates were even worse. I think people are too focused on the trees and miss the forest that is the toxic identity politics that were quietly bubbling away beneath the surface before the election. I said to my wife in mid-2016 that Trump could be the chaos that the system needs; effectively a big red (orange?) reset button, and I still believe that. Just look at the behaviours that his victory has brought out in otherwise ordinary people -- his mere existence has shone a light on it and brought it out of the shadows before it was ready. I shudder when I think how far the identity politics would've gone if Hillary had won. I'm not sure the pendulum would have ever swung back.

Say this thread is locked and talk of Era is banned, what mechanism is there to prevent that sub-culture from developing here again?
