Well right now we have only been playing ranked games that have been set to 5 innings,analog batting and fielding on,it's the default ea online setting.
You should practice hitting and fielding using the right thumbstick,but something tells me in the long run if we do have a league people will want to use the classic hitting and fielding.

Doesnt matter anyway,this isnt MVP,I have 3 hrs total in like 36 games :lol I used to sometimes get 3 or more hrs an inning.

Alright, I played a few more games online (now 2-1 against terrible opposition). I think my connection was working pretty well today; in the two games I played there wasn't any "lag" in the sense of stuttery play, but there was still about a .25 second delay in the button presses being recorded, and this is really noticeable in the pitching (makes it very difficult). I can get "Perfect" on just about any pitch offline but online I'm lucky to get it in the zone b/c my timing is so thrown off.
Is this common or do you guys not have this kind of delay when you play online?
Anyway it's a fun game. Really makes me wish EA had a share of the MLB license so they would have had more time to polish the game (the mechanics are fun as hell, but could use a little more work) and obviously so we could play with MLB teams. There are weird little things too like I can't figure out how to get the display to show my stats instead of ratings besides doing it in-game each time. Also I wish you could turn off commentary and stuff online to hopefully minimize the chance of lag.
Good times though, certainly worth the 30 bucks for someone who hasn't played a baseball game in a while. Oh, baserunning sucks though (unless there are serious nuances to the mechanic that I haven't grasped yet, but I doubt it).
