How do you go about making an argument that nothing will change no matter who gets elected, when your only evidence is your own personal experience? It's not just the Iraq war, which has ruined the lives of many Americans and millions of Iraqis (not to mention bankrupting the country), but there are hundreds of other issues that affect the lives of the average American that would almost certainly not have happened if Bush was never elected.

Of course a single president cannot change everything, but they can do quite a bit. The last 8 years would have been very different if Bush was not elected and the same can be said about virtually every presidential term.

I got an e-mail from the local Obama group. Ohio plans to canvas really heavily the weekend before March 4. Their goal is to knock on 1 million doors across the state in those two days, with the help of thousands of volunteers from multiple states. Ohio is in good hands, I think.

Yeah, this war is expensive. But do you honestly think the quality of life is going to be any different? The Reagan and Bush I adminstrations ran up a huge, huge debt as well on defense spending and tax cuts, if i remember correctly. I also don't recall any breadlines or 20% unemployment or anything like that.
