Spielegrotte now has a delivery date of May 30th - lets keep our fingers crossed.
Highly Estimeed MR XY
(this is just the greeting).
I can certainly understand why you were upset at this news.
(or I can understand you upheaval/anger/amazement/excitement over this news).
However, we (at zuxxex) were just as surprised to learn about this delay that you were, and we are just as disappointed at you. (källt erwischt acrually means simething like 'coldly surprised' or something like that, but you really can't translate this well to English).
We would like to have told you the reason behind the dealy, but, as already mentioned in the press-release, we cannot do so. (or more correctly: 'we are not allowed to do so, or we may not do so).
This probably sounds strange (or odd/weird), however, this is due to (or has background in) high-ranking external interests which have an interest in the publication (or official announcement) of console-version, which is to to be released by a third-party publisher (gesehen geworden.) [And that's how far I got with this sentence, I hope it does make sense, I've tried my best...].
PS: The game is as good as finished. (meaning it is finished). :ranting:
The second email:
The new release date is probably May 17, 2007. (or 5/17/07 - in the US date).
I hope, in spte of all this trouble, that you still will be (or stay) loyal to Two Worlds. The game as well as the developers (or the developing team)have certainly deserved it.

Found an interesting statement on the official forums, regarding the rumors that TW is delayed indefinitely, because Sony bouht the rights for a PS3 timed exclusive. The quote is from Dirk Hassinger, VP Business Development

This is like what was told me: the game is stuck in the certification process. I'd like to know what MS wanted to be changed...Hammer24 said:And if this manufacturer doesn´t like what he gets from a developer or publisher, he can force them to change whatever he wants.

Found an interesting statement on the official forums, regarding the rumors that TW is delayed indefinitely, because Sony bouht the rights for a PS3 timed exclusive. The quote is from Dirk Hassinger, VP Business Development:
Rough translation:
What bullshit - Reality Pump doesn´t even have a press officer, neither someone named "Belic". And Reality Pump is not holding press conferences.
The X360 version is finished from a developer point of view, and has a multiplayer part. For a PS3 version the concept-approval has not been requested. We are investigating the possibility of developing a PS3 version, and if we decide to, Sony has to investigate if they want that too. To enable us to find out, we -or, to be more precise, our US company- bought PS3 dev kits half a year ago.
If there will be a PS3 version it will for sure not be a port, but a further developed version, an enhancement.
And to add this right away: we also have Nintendo Wii and DS dev kits - but this doesn´t mean necessarily that we are developing a DS version. We think its absolutely normal, to try out new platforms to find out if it makes any sense to develop on them.
On consoles the respective console manufacturer decides what and when anything shows up as a game on their platform. And if this manufacturer doesn´t like what he gets from a developer or publisher, he can force them to change whatever he wants. Alternatively the game never sees the light of day. It happens, that this manufacturers have other interests, priorities and wishes than the publisher and developer.
Regarding purchasability - while I think there aren´t any offers like this, we would f.i. for no money in the world make a DX10-only game, because we want our games to be played. Therefore a platform has to have an installed base.
Jtyettis said:What is that even saying? That doesn't say anything about a PS3 timed exclusive. So you're saying they may make a PS3 version yet they will hold back on the 360 version until that is done and released. That certainly not what I just got from that. Sounds more like MS cert process than anything which is supposedly where the game is right now. And/or working out the rumors of potential cross platform play.
Hammer24 said:Wait what? I think we´ve got a complete misunderstanding, so let´s try to put it back together:
- 360 version gets delayed, no reason given
- on a polish forum a rumor surfaces, stating that the reason for the delay is Sony, paying the publisher to hold it and make it timed exclusive for PS3, citing a guy named "Belic" as the press officer of the publisher as source
- on the official forum the VP Business Development goes online, denying this rumor as FUD, and his very statement got quoted by me
- but he fails to deliver the REAL reason for the delay, so some speculation about a rift between MS and the publisher over the Live-Anywhere implementation wont die
Jtyettis said:The cross-platform itself? Shouldn't be too hard although they would have to make it for gold members only I believe at least that is the outline in which MS stated in their PR on live anywhere.
