Old computer games you're pretty sure no one but you ever played.

I had this cd full of south park minigame, felt like some bootleg fanmade collection but I enjoyed it. Also a barbie game on DOS, first or second level was in a red car. Also aldo or whatever it was called some kind of donkey kong clone but I'm sure that one isn't very obscure

I remember a game about a black cat getting inside several windows, in one room there was a big cheese, dunno what was it's name

edit: this one

I got this game on one of my birthdays, such a weird game. It had a number of minigames all which one way or another had these two characters fighting it out. Whether it was baseball, fighting (like in the video), or a break out clone. It also had a number of icons and screensavers with it.

I still to this day can't say if I like it or not, it's just a very odd piece of software. Of course none of my friends played it because they were busy with Command & Conquer while I was stuck with this =/

And a bunch of other educational games from my youth.

oh my fucking god. You are now my best friend forever.

I was obsessed with this game in high school, maintained a geocities fan page for it and everything. I still regard it as sort of a lost treasure, a real oddity that summarizes a lot of the "myst clone-ish CD-ROM software art" trends of the mid '90s.

I actually recently did a sort of "restoration" of it combing the windows engine with retouched versions of the higher quality mac assets and wrapped it all in a dosbox install of windows 3.1 so it's super portable now. Just because that's how much I love this stupid game.
Color me intrigued! I love games like that: Labyrinth of Time, GADGET, Amber: Journeys Beyond. I'd definitely like to learn more about this one.

Both amiga games. Both pretty bad.

Man, I had Skyfox for my C64 back in the day. I used to love it actually.

I recognize a lot of games in this thread, talk about blasts from the past. I can think of one I haven't seen yet though, an old Epyx game called Legend of Blacksilver. I played this game for a whole winter on my C64:

Oh my god, I literally hadn't thought about this game for more than a decade. Amazing the stuff that's on the back of our minds... If I remember correctly I didn't understand the game very well.

Loved this game, very atmospheric. Played it the other day and it absolutely holds up, it's kind of like Myst without the puzzles. The acting is really cheesy but the level of exploration kind of reminded me of Dear Esther and Gone Home.

This game scarred the shit outta me. Dat wax museum with the mummy. This came before Resident Evil

Odell under down.

Loved that game so much as a kid that I learned a shit ton about the ocean/fish that when it came time to go to college Marine biology was one of my choices.

I never even played more than the demo version!

Would pay 20$ for an HD rerelease or 10-15$ just for a version that played on a modern pc or browser.

I don't know if he's been mentioned yet, but the Lazy Game Reviews channel on youtube has covered quite a few games in this thread. Cool guy, and worth a look.
troggle trouble math
Yes! I've been trying to remember the name of this game for years. I remember in school I was the only one in my class to finish it.. hah, so much nostalgia right now.

Old Apple IIe game. I have never met anyone else in real life who knows what this game is.

You can watch a playthrough here.

Many fond memories playing this as a kid on my Apple IIc. I was young, and most of the time I didn't know what to do, but the graphics were mind blowing.

That theme song!!

Oh man, this is already my favorite thread ever. Love obscure PC games!

I'll post more later but for now...

1999-abomination02.jpg

Abomination: The Nemesis Project was a real-time strategy game where you control a 4-squad team around large maps infected by some fucked up mutated Cult of the Brood. It's pretty awesome, surprised it never caught more attention.

Some games I played on the C64 would probably qualify but I can't remember the names lol.

I've never seen this mentioned anywhere. Surely someone else has played it, right?

OMG... O.M.G!

I had completely forgotten about this game. It was so fun! God I had a blast playing this with a friend of mine! Jesus Christ that was what? 20 years ago? Man...

Lot's of people here have played it but I need to give a shout-out to Prehistorik 2, one of my favorite games from that period.

In a new installment of "late 90s games lost to the mists of time", today I bring you Submarine Titans and Enemy Infestation.

(Mobygames screenshots seem to be from the Polish version of ST).

Played this on a demo cd from some games magazine. At the time i heard it was never released because of the subliminals but it seems that was a rumor. According to Wikipedia it released in 1995.

Hahah, I just found this just a few days ago after searching for it for a long time. "I feel joyful now! I can do anything!"

At first I thought I had played this, but then I think it was Questron 2 which was made by the same guys but published by SSI. I also had Legacy of the Ancients, also made by the same guys but published by EA.

I played a game called The Creed in the early 2000's. You chose a male or female character and could join one of three different factions. All of them had different missions and you could move about the city freely. It was pretty cool at the time.
I tried to google for it but this game seems very obscure. Found some screens from a review and some videos from a youtuber though.

I had it, but must admit I thought it was blooming awful and stopped playing after a couple of hours, sorry! :(

i havent been going through all the pages (first7), so sorry if that has already been mentioned.

As far as i remember it was a very hard and unforgiving game. I think i never got past level 7 or 8.

I cant believe someone posted Z. I never owned it. I just had a demo from somewhere. I thought Commander Zod was the coolest guy ever. I remember it being pretty good actually.

I tried remembering the name but kept drawing blanks. This was a sort of GTA meets Syndicate Wars, except much less polished.

i have a few games i wish i could rediscover but describing them is not easy, i am unsure if these games even could be found at this point

the first one was a game where you were some sort of robot, and the objective of the game (from what i played and can remember) was to collect floppy disk shaped "data disks" and put them in various terminals around the level, i believe there were enemy robots of various types but i think i only dealth with bug type ones, as for the look of it, i believe it was a 2.5D type game.

the second one is likely a fan made game or some kind of test for a game, it was a mario (the nintendo character) themed game which was 2.5D, unlike normal mario games the player simply walked around the level and could speak to various characters (who never moved and only stood in place) after a few minutes a row of fireballs would come from the top of the screen in a horizontal line and always kill the player so i never got to figure out what it was about, i remember the level being a grassy area with shrub walls in some places and a pipe that was on the far left side of the map which was hard to reach on time and im unsure if it was useable.

the next two i played at the same time period (as i believe they were on a disk or set of disks together, possible the galaxy of games series), the first game was a really weird FPS style game where you would walk through a mostly whiteish or brick maze with a gun or fist and would kill enemies, one of the enemies was a big smiley face which made weird sounds, and you had to always watch your back as enemies would come out of nowhere and kill you.
The second game is going to be really tough to describe but here goes, from what i recal you played as a stick man or a pencil drawn guy, and you would be in a really open white or possibly textured area and would find these structures which were basically white blocks grouped together, and some of them were in geometric patters and you had to climb on and around them to find or get something, but i never got to play the game very long.
the final one is a game which i only played very briefly when i was very very young so between 95-2005 it was on a floppy disk, and all it consisted of was two 3D white octagonal polygon platforms and a rope between them all on a pure black background, you played as a bipedal reptile of some sort and to beat the first level you had to jump from your platform to the rope and land on the other platform, but i never managed as it was difficult to play and i lost the disk not long after finding it, i think the player character was green and everything else was white while the background was completely black, its entirely possible it was some sort of demo disk for something but there is no record of it at all anywhere that i can find, it would be nice to be able to at least learn the name of these extremely obscure games.

Fenimore Fillmore and the 3 Skulls of the Toltecs.

I can't be the only eejit who played this game. It was one of the first ones we got when I got my first PC as a kid and we absolutely loved it. I still have the hard copy lying around somewhere. Would love to replay it someday, but I worry it won't hold up to the nostalgia.
