Old? SSBB will have full orchestrated music?

Don't think this was mentioned before.

The main theme was created for us by none other than famed Final Fantasy composer, Nobuo Uematsu!

Additionally, opera singer Ken Nishikiori has also participated in this project on vocals.

...And as a special service to readers of this site, I can say that the game's music will be performed by a full orchestra.

It will be a deluxe chorus complete with lyrics in Latin.

First Nintendo game ever with a full orchestra?

edit 2: And because people are making fun of me :(, something that IS new :

"Following a discussion in which Sakurai commented that many Wii games seem to be tailored around the Wii controller, Famitsu asked if Smash Bros. Brawl won't be using the controller's special functionality at all. 'At the very least, you won't be using it during normal play,' responded Sakurai."

Afaik this was mentioned way early..

Seriously? If so, guess I haven't been keeping track of this game as closely as I thought...

Note: I'm not talking about just the theme or Nobuo Uematsu.

I'm keeping close tabs too, but I might have confused it with that Nobuo Uematsu theme..

The site went up like...the day after the trailer, with that text on.

Ack...just checked some other sites that had this info, and yeah this is way olde. I'm so ashamed. :(

Edit: on the plus side, there were still a few people that didn't know about this so it's kinda okay, I think...

But I thought the Wii wasn't powerful enough for orchestrated music.

midi format of course.

but will a [party]fighting game really be helped by a orchestra ost? Do you get your juices flowing with a lust for fist cuffs with orchestrated music?

Wha...are you kidding, or did the official confirmation fly right past me for some reason?

I just typed Zelda Twilight Princess Orchestral Soundtrack into Google and got a lot of results. Here's a quote from a Planet Gamecube preview:

"You may have noticed that the trailer uses fully orchestrated music. The composer, Koji Kondo, says this is his first time working with a full orchestra, and it is the first time an orchestra has been used for any Zelda game. The entire game soundtrack won't be orchestrated, but more music for cinema scenes and other key moments are being arranged for the orchestral treatment."

I actually thought it was the whole game, but at least some of it. That's not too shabby.

Yes, YES.

I'm a bit taken aback by the usual console sample quality of music. FFXII's soundtrack (the samples themselves, not the composition - which I can't really comment on - ) sounds very archaic to me. I want real instruments.

That would be infinitely more appealing to me than nextgen graphics.

Infinitely.

I don't see why not. SCII had music like that (well, dunno if it was a real orchestra or just good samples).

There are so many movies that use beautiful orchestrated music during fight scenes. I would welcome this for just about any genre.

Doesn't stop my schoolmates from masturbating over every little tidbit of SSBB info like the little shut-ins they are.

Not yet! New info!!

The world's oldest man has signed on to play the world's oldest song on the world's oldest violin for SSBB!

:p

Well, has THIS not been posted at least?

I cannot freakin wait.

........but seriously, if SSBB does not have online play, then I am going to go on a hunger strike.
Looking at Nintendo's track record so far, don't expect too much out of it. Besides, their focus is more about improving the game overall rather than just a fully-featured online experience.

Orchestrated music is fine and all but please set your priorities and nerf Fox and Falco tia. >:o

:( theres not enough news about this game. cant effin wait. i still play this game nearly everyday for 20 minutes. they need to adjust the cameras and please do not nerf all the other moves (shffl, wavedash, etc) i heart falco

After thinking about it for a bit, I dunno if a fully orchestrated soundtrack would be the best thing for SSB. I mean, don't get me wrong. Orchestrated music is indeed ace, but I feel Melee had the right thing going with it with it's combinations of synth and orchestral.

Half the fun of SSB is its gratuitous epicness, especially for a game thats more or less a bunch of cartoon characters bopping each other in the face with fans and fruit and things.

SSB for me has always been Nintendo more or less attempting to make real the more nerdy playground arguments of everyones youth - who would in in a fight, link or samus, mario or sonic, etc - and in my head at least, if such a battle were envisioned, it would be the most epic event in the history of epic events, but Mario would still look like his comedy cartoon self, just backed by a solid wall of explosions and a chorous singing in latin.

They seem to be playing up the comedy/epic thing even more in SSB:B if the E3 trailer and it's music are anything to go by. It's a far more fresh and entertaining approach to take than to stick exclusively to jingly happy tunes one might predict would accompany a game that looks like that.

I'm worried about nerfing as well. They KILLED all my characters from SSB in Melee (Ness, Kirby, Yoshi). Hopefully they will keep at least one of my characters awesome: Peach, Jigglypuff, Sheik, or Fox.

As for the music, if it's anything like the music from the trailer, count me in. Also, Orchestrated Nintendo music FTW (see Zelda:TOoT Orchestrated soundtrack for proof).

Well, they did say they were redesigning everyone's movesets, so don't expecet characters to play too similarly to what they did before.

Expect huge nerfings for peach and sheik, though (especially peach's down smash

alright, so the orchestra music sits well with the fans. I for one, prefer techno music in competitive games. F-zero GX music owns ass.

If we are discussing gameplay, then I am very negative since it will probably be less deep than melee. But whatever. I'm going to get drunk now. PEACE!

Why would it be less deep than Melee?
