No! Here it will DEFINITELY be awesome nostalgia-quality 2D, and it won't be bogged down by gimmickry touch screen RUBBING or CONTROLLER SWINGING mini-games or some such shit. And that's awfully tempting for a RPG like this.

Well, they skipped out on Mother 1+2 for US and the classic games sell great on GBA too. NoA decided to ignore us poor fans. So I don't know how much they listen.

But I can't fathom they'd go 0-2. I mean, by the time Earthbound 2 would likely be ready to release in the US it'd be Nov/Dec 2006 or early Spring 2007, and the big GBA games will likely be dried up. It would nicely fill in the space for them.

I never played any great amount of Earthbound (maybe an hour tops), though I've been meaning to for a while. I suppose I'll download it on the Legacy Console when Rev comes out. Regardless, I'm excited for this because I thought the N64 incarnation looked awesome and I'm interested in seeing what this one looks like on GBA.

I'm thrilled about the sequel but I understand misgivings about the choice of platform. GBA is technically inferior to SNES so it's a step back for the series in that sense.
