Wow, this hype reminds me of Dragon Warrior 7. All this waiting just for a prehistoric-looking (& sounding) game.
BorkBork said:You know what? I wouldn't give a shit about the graphics if they were in line with Earthbound's. It's aged far better than any RPG on the SNES. And don't diss the sound. One of the most memorable game soundtracks out there. Go download the "Bound Together" remix on one of the threads on this board.
Amir0x said:No! Here it will DEFINITELY be awesome nostalgia-quality 2D, and it won't be bogged down by gimmickry touch screen RUBBING or CONTROLLER SWINGING mini-games or some such shit. And that's awfully tempting for a RPG like this.
Amir0x said:I already did in the original thread, it was a one time only event. I was bottling it up for this reveal, and boy did it feel good...
...there's a dual-sided rage bottled up for the inevitable disappointment of it never coming to the US.
"GBA is technically inferior to SNES so it's a step back for the series in that sense."
Manabanana said:I'd only want it on the DS for the sound and bonus features from my Mother 1+2 cart. I'm glad it's for GBA, though. Import pre-order, GET. I can't wait to see Brownie Brown's sprites.
Musashi Wins! said:I think a mid 2006 release on gba doesn't bode well for regionalization, you know? At least if it was on the still active DS the fussing might reach the right ears. I really hope I'm wrong and we get the whole thing for once.

so that means Mother 3 / Earthbound 2 on GBA will not even be close to the original concept on N64 / 64DD (bulky drive).
That's not surprising, but i still would like the chance to bash Pokey's face in. How come there aren't characters from the first Mother in Smash?AssMan said:Didn't the creator say Ness and the gang won't be in this game?

My only problem with it being on the GBA is that the sound quality is fucking AWFUL. Somebody said that GBA is actually weaker than the SNES graphics wise. Is that true?
Ford Prefect said:WHY THE HELL AREN'T 1+2 COMING STATESIDE
ninge said:This is only (partially) true for sound and true for the number of buttons available.
GBA has more sprites (both in number and maximum size - with scaling and roation that the snes didnt have), more background layers (with 2 mode 7 layers available at once instead of 1 on snes), more RAM, more VRAM, MUCH faster 32bit CPU (rather than a ass-slow 8bit CPU with hacked on 16bit support), ability to do link up and larger cartridge sizes.
Screen resolution is slightly reduced (16 pixels smaller in X and 32 pixels smaller in Y) on the GBA as well - but to say that it is "technically inferior to SNES" is wrong on so many levels...

GBA is confirmed perfect place. Haters hate elsewhere.
Akai said:I think Itoi's say trumps everyone's here, thus I say the GBA is fine...
Dragona Akehi said:You know, I'm going to have to disagree with you.
GBA, in my opinion is the worst place for Mother 3, not even touching the music issue. The original game design was for the N64DD and used many of its funky features. Rewritable media, internal clock... all this is going to be lost with a puny little GBA cart.
