One Piece Treasure Cruise |OT3| Zephyr any day now...

Heracles is stupidly easy but I'm being smart and saving my gems for things I need more. Aokiji is getting at least 70 copies later this week.

I'm cracking down on turtle time while I'm in between jobs. No excuse to miss them anymore. I would also never use gems to get more out of them until now.. What a difference when you do. Sengoku + Fullbody is the best. Throw in 3 subs of the opposite color and you're golden. The past few CYO times have been great.

1)3d2y Brook - 60-70, evolved. 1-73 in one turtle time.
2)Blamenco - same thing, 60-70, evolved him, 1-70 in one turtle time.

Hi,

I hope i won't bother you too much, but i've been lurking this topic since i started OPTC, and... i'm looking for some advice on my team comp / goals.

Right now this is my team :

And this is my box atm (Started a game during the anniversary event)

Right now my goal is to replace Arlong by Koala (I need more levels for the cost), but i'm kinda lost on what would be the best comp i could use with my characters (Especially for the captain spot)...

Thank you very much !
Won't bother anyone here. This game takes a long time to wrap your head around when you first start.

First of all I'm not sure when that screen shot was taken but I'd change your ship maybe? not sure where you are at as far as leveling up the normal merry but you are using the expired 2nd anny ship (stats are lowered after the event ends) As far as your captain slot, I would recommend Rayleigh for sure(probably good that you didn't evolve him yet either, it will bump his team costs waaaay up there). He offers a similar power as your G3 Luffy but hitting the perfects 100% of the time won't be as strict. You can miss with Rayleigh or hit a good or perfect and still do some dmg. Koala is a good goal to work on fitting in your team. She has a fairly low cd on her special that will boost fighters attack (seems like you have a lot of fighters so thats good) Also good that you got GP Usopp in there. What a difference he makes while learning all the fights.

Friend, you should be using your Rayleigh as your leader. I use Rayleigh for 95% of content, from story to FNs to raids. Then add a bunch of Ray friends to make the most of him. Post your ID and i'll add you. He's just very easy to use and very powerful.

With Ray as your leader, you can use any units you want. Generally you'll want a mix of boosters, DPS and delayers.

You have Usopp for the delay, so that is good.

By boosters, generally I mean units that boost either your overall damage (e.g., increase fighter damage by 1.75) or your orb booster. Boosters are key. It looks like you have a SW Franky, so you'll definitely want him on your team. He's the blue haired fellow that is of Red color. Actually, I see that you also have Senor Pink, who is an orb booster as well. Franky boosts for 2 turns while Pink boosts for 1, but Pink offers a bigger boost. Both are great units. Actually, if you also use Koala, then you should probably use Pink, as he is a fighter and will benefit from Koala's fighter boost.

That would give you a team of Ray, Pink, Koala, and Usopp. For the last spot, I would just use whatever strong character you have. Now, you may not have the team cost for this team, but it's something to work towards.

Also as always here's the friend ID spreadsheet for GAF, quote me to see it:

Most of us add anyone from GAF. I always keep space open on my list and add anyone that ID searches me.

as far as your box go like Commish said you should use Rayleigh as your captain and then your strongest character from each other color. Rayleigh is ridiculously strong and you will absolutely tear through the game with him.

That is a really good team to work towards for a new player. Orb booster + atk booster.. and your delay from GP. If you put Alvida in there (when you eventually get her) and you'll be able to handle many different situations.\

Thanks for posting the link again Kyou. I went looking for it last night and couldn't find it.

Just my quick note (other will chime in later im sure),
you have the potential for great fighter based G3 and Rayleigh teams.

Captain: Ray or G3 depending on what you need/want for the stage - i would run Ray as a beginner for most stuff unless you really need the G3 damage. Then again evolved Ray is quite expensive to run teamcost wise. If you are already used to G3 - stick to him for now.

Orb booster: Senor Pink
Type/Fighter booster : Koala
Flex: Jinbei, Jesus etc. depending on who you need
Delay: Golden Pound

Just need to tank up a bit more so that you can run a team with all those units, Once you are ready make sure you farm Raid Mihawk and Raid Doffy to open up your options.

Welcome!

You already got loads of good advice, but I'll chime in anyway.
I'd second the advice to switch G3 with Rayleigh for most content, since he is way more forgiving while providing the same flexibility and strenght. Keep him unevolved for now, since his cost will shoot up to 55 which is more suited for a pirate level well into the 100 range.

Other good starting captains are 5+ Luffy and Zoro, both being good characters overall and give you options if there is a limitation on fortnights. Later on you might want to look into Powerhouse/Fighter teams, since you have a few good units already. Burgees and Jabra are both good captains for that, although you might not have the characters for quite some time still. Also keep Killer in mind, you don't really need to level him much, but he is awesome for some ranking missions.

In terms of good special characters to work on the duo Koala/Senior Pink is pretty obvious for fighter teams. TS Nami is also really good for later content. And SW Franky is one of my personal most used units, fits fell into STR, Free Spirit, Shooter and Rainbow teams with easily farmable sockets, low CD special and good stats while being a two turn orb booster.

Welcome! I'll try to cover advice that hasn't yet been given to you in other posts in this thread, but it actually seems like you know what you're doing since you haven't evolved your Legend yet at your player level(<----I did this at your level, lol).

It's good that you've kept a spare Zoro; Ashura Zoro is still a standout unit due to being a F2P 9-hit combo unit which is super handy during turtle time(that half hour period that happens twice a day every Monday and Friday when you can farm evolvers). You can use this site to find out when your account should be getting turtle times(it's different for everybody based on the 6th digit of their ID). Buffalo is also an excellent unit for quickly clearing turtle time to get as many runs in as possible. Daimyo turtles have 15 HP so I tend to bring two 9-hit units and two 6-hit units like Golden Pound Usopp and Captain Fullbody to quickly clear them. I see you have fortnight Hina; next time she comes around you'll want to do your best to get a copy of Captain Fullbody and get his special up, as at max it can instakill an elder turtle on the last stage making farming turtles waaaay faster.

That spare Luffy that evolves into the 8-hit Gear 2nd Luffy isn't going to have as much use as Ashura Zoro unless you use Buffalo as a captain which, not gonna lie, can actually be incredibly powerful. It's a quirky team that's often a hassle to plan out since the damage calculator doesn't support it yet, but Buffalo can clear Shiki, one of the hardest raids in the game. So it's probably worth hanging on to that spare Luffy too.

You've got both Mirage Tempo Nami and Golden Pound Usopp ready, which is excellent. Any extra Strawhats that you get in the future can be fed to your most used version of that character to get sockets, although I'd probably save one each of Usopp and Nami for their own super evolutions, although Usopp is just a slightly stronger Golden Pound Usopp(GPU) with a slightly worse cooldown. You'll rely on GPU 99% of the time and can thus be safely ignored if you like. Chopper and Sanji are both straight upgrades, and we don't know if Brook, Robin, and Franky will get super evolutions of their story variants yet.

If you read the above paragraph and don't know what sockets are, well, let's go. If you've played Final Fantasy 7, think of sockets as materia. Every character has a fixed number of slots for sockets, and sockets give different powers with some sockets being blatantly better than others. You gain one random socket each time you feed a copy of any variant of a character onto itself. Kind of wordy, but it's the most precise way of saying it. For example, you can feed 5+ Luffy any copy of Luffy you like, from the unevolved original starting Luffy, the fortnight variant Afro Luffy, the raid variant Nightmare Luffy, even the Legend variants Log Luffy and Timeskip Luffy(never ever do this unless you want to make me cry). A socket triggers for your entire party with scaling effects(Lv. 1, Lv. 2, Lv. 3, etc) once you hit a certain number of that socket type between your entire party. For example, anti-bind sockets trigger for Lv. 1 with 10 sockets between your entire party, and trigger Lv. 2 with 15 sockets. If sockets seem confusing, don't worry, I went about a month into the game before I started worrying about them at all and they're definitely a mid to late game feature that can be safely put off at your level. Understanding them to make goals for yourself will help you in the future, however.

Finally, you've got three excellent rainbow leads(Rayleigh, Gear 3rd, 5+ Luffy) and have heard good advice about how to use all of them, but not when you should pick one over the other. I'll try to shed some ideas on it. With all of them being Fighters, the selection criteria is a bit trickier.

-Rayleigh is the easiest of them all to use, and is the 2nd safest of them too since he can still do good damage even if you don't mash all your perfects. Pick him when playing casually, he'll see you through almost anything and can clear almost everything too. And the best part is, he can work with almost any color or class.

-Gear 3rd is a powerful glass cannon most suited to clearing DEX content, definitely the hardest to use, BUT if you're comfortable using him I'd encourage you to keep using him until you at the very least farm Mihawk, as Gear 3rd can demolish Mihawk easily. After that I'd suggest retiring him unless you're following a specific clearing guide for a piece of content that uses Gear 3rd that you don't think you can do with either Rayleigh or TS Luffy. Gear 3rd does have excellent clear rates, after all.

-5+ Luffy is the safest of the three, and middle of the pack in terms of ease of use. He's a very slightly weaker Gear 3rd in damage but with a much better special and slight HP boost. Use him when you're not going to be bringing GP Usopp but will still need to use a delay. But ALSO use him alongside friend Timeskip Luffy, as he's your most reliable Free Spirit lead for easy clearing. You have Senor Pink, SW Franky and Jabra for orb boosters, Koala is a Free Spirit who boosts all of your Fighters which TS Luffy, 5+ Luffy, and Senor Pink all are. Buffalo is a low cooldown orb randomizer that will work VERY well with Timeskip Luffy's effect, as will Blue Gilly who will let you get orbs on your most critical units. Between these two, almost full matching orbs is very possible, although Raid Ivankov would potentially fit better over Buffalo as they are also a fighter/free spirit that scrambles orbs. Although you're guaranteed three matching orbs between Buffalo, Gilly, and Senor Pink.

This is the damage you'd be looking at, 2 million to every class and 3 million to STR units. Slightly higher with Gear 3rd, but more risky if you mess up since they're all one-turn boosters and have no orb locker.

So I am full up on skill books right now. I have about 5 or more copies of every skill book (or copies in some cases) that I need. But now I need more box space. You guys really weren't kidding about buying more box space makes you want more. Debating on whether I should just use some of these now to free up bag space or just hold out for the permanent skill-up. I'm sitting on a ridiculous amount of Fossa books.

Also speaking of Fossa books, I'm sorry to ask help while someone else already is, but I cannot get the last bits of this ranking challenge. I've tried enough times and still can't get it. I've been running a Double Killer team with Enel, Boa and Kizaru as the Heavy hitters but I keep falling short of the last milestone (the highest I have is 25) and I'm getting annoyed. Also doesn't help that everyone put away their Killer captains and I only have maybe two left I can grab. Can someone put up Killer as captain, I would appreciate it.

I just put mine up, good luck!

while farming Olvia I backed out to do my snails and went back in and accidentally did Herecles

Still managed to win with my Olvia team. Well, six Rayleigh Points I guess.

I agree all the way. At least running Heracles isn't a complete pain and you can do runs pretty fast. Hopefully today nets me some skill ups, he's still at 24 turns for me.
Also, he's the 2nd easiest raid boss to get into a usable CD range (next to Ivankov).

Most raid bosses have initial CDs of 28+. Heracles is 24

Wow, thank you very much for all the knowledge you shared with me. I have a better understanding of how the game works now, feels great. I'll probably start to experiment with what you said today.

I've took some screenshots of your replies because we'll probably be in the OT4 soon btw. I'll try to post more often here... Thanks again !

Wedding Boa would have been perfect for my Ace/Shooter team xD
How many days one can try to get it? It seem I have 3 Gems, I could make yolo pull for that silver Bellemere :p.

That word Shooter & Ace sounds perfect (I did pull dupe Ace from Sugofest with my 3 pulls :p).

Edit: One pull trolled 4* Koza :p

Unless you didn't do it. Toss me a friend request too (I did clear idle friends). We are much closer in player levels than most other GAFer's so some of my units stay longer time as friend leaders for you to use. My id is in that doc too. Also add something to Pirate crew name that says youre from GAF.

You could use TS (5*+) Luffy instead of Gear 3rd if you don't want as much pressure to hit your perfects, although it's always cool to learn to hit them quickly.

Koala seems like a good change, since she boosts fighters and your team mostly uses them.

Right now, you should stop using the 2nd Anniversary Sunny. If you haven't cleared Ennies Lobby, the best ship is the Going Merry (normal version) since it boosts ATK of all units by 1.5x (while the Anniversary Sunny boosts by 1.2x). Trust me, the difference is night and day.

In general, I'd say there is a solid fundation in your box for a Fighter team. You have Koala and Señor Pink, who boost Fighters and the effect of orbs respectively. GP Usopp is great for bosses that don't delay. Once your level is a bit higher, evolve Rayleigh, he is a really great captain.

Your priority right now should be farming Mihawk the next time he appears. Get a copy of Monster Chopper too, he is great for Doflamingo eventhough his skill isn't that important. If there is any raid boss coming to the game, drop by and ask us! We'll give you some tips and tell you if you are capable of clearing reliably his stage.

Also, he's the 2nd easiest raid boss to get into a usable CD range (next to Ivankov).

Mine is at 11 and max socketed, I decided to skip him today. I wanted to get some extra SW Usopp books. I'm at 12 so far, which is crap :l I've even neglected some Coliseum days to try to run the Olivia fortnight. I've got a lot of those Davy Back Fight books. Fuck em.

Spend 3 gems to get my level up and 25 copies of Heracles. Will probably result in another 2 skill-ups, but oh well. Him and Garp are by far the worst in terms of skill-ups for raid bosses for me.

Not pulling for those wedding units, nope.
Just hoping I can get a few more books for Fossa and Kid today. Young Arlong himself drops surprisingly often, too bad I don't really need him anymore.

Next week will be CP9 focus. Need Kumadori/Jabra sockets and Squard books for my PH team. Although with Colo and Aokiji coming I won't be farming it that often, and I need Jabra books the week afterwards.

Speaking of Aokiji:

That should be enough for him. Even wave 3 shouldn't be a problem with 6 actual hitters and Shanks for a few orbs. Can substitute for Borsalino FC which would make the run even easier.
Brook is there for sockets. Need to stall 20 turns with CD level 1 for my burst, which should be easily doable with the high RCV.

Not quick, but safe. Will probably go for 20 copies.

Hey, that's a lot to process, but thank you very much for your post. Just made the 30min turtle thing and wow, it's way faster with the characters you talked about :p

Thanks for the tips, i'm waiting for Mihawk, last time he appeared was a month ago ~ right ?

Right now i'm having a hard time on story mode, so i'm trying to farm as much as possible to level up my team. Oh and yeah i've switched my boat :p

Story node gets quite hard after Arabasta. Running Fortnight Islands would be a good idea since they give a good amount of EXP for their stamina cost.

From the next batch of Fortnights (Extra Islands, the ones with 5/10/15/30 stamina versions), grabbing a version of Coby and Helmeppo would be nice, they're solid units and you don't need to worry about leveling up their skills much. Then run whichever has the books you want the most.

I am going to rock Aokiji so hard this time! I hope. :(

I'm at 20 doffy books. Good enough. Wanted 25 but the rate is just too low. 20 books is probably only 2 skillups :/
