This is getting a bit off topic but I don't think it is healthy to call gamers "entitled".
Gaming can be very different to other forms of entertainment.
Movies, books and music are all passive (am I using the right word?) forms of entertainment, you sit there and watch/read/listen. These forms of entertainment work really well when the original creative minds get to create what they want, many films have been ruined from studio interference. A bit of editing or some suggestions can go a long way but too much tampering is a bad thing.
Games on the other hand are interactive experiences. Yes, there are single player experiences that should be created by the creative leads, much like God of War. But when it comes to multiplayer based games, gameplay mechanics and even platforms that games are released on, the audience matters. The developers develop and they get play testers to make sure everything is ok. They don't generally live and breath their games like the fanbase. The fanbase is what makes an IP popular or a failure. If a company is going to organise conventions, they especially should respect their fans and listen to what they have to say.
If the developer/publisher disrespects their fan base or ignores what they are saying. They are heading in a crash course for disaster and failure. The recent Blizzard scenario could be the very beginning of Blizzards downfall, their audience could potentially be so angry at them that they just won't buy any more of their games. If Diablo 4 releases and the fans see a repeat of Diablo 3 and it's auction house (them being greedy and trying to nickle and dime their audience) their audience will definitely just walk away.
To bring this back around to Sony, their audience has been with them for over 20 years. They started off as a Japanese company and during the PS1 and PS2 years the consoles were dominated by Japanese games. They were the first company to treat their audience as "grown ups" and marketed towards an older audience. Dating sims being very Japanesy, naturally they became popular on the Playstation consoles and that audience grew on that line of consoles. Now here they are doing a complete 180 and treating their audience like a bunch of babies, treating them like they can't make their own decisions on what they can and can't handle. It is a huge slap in the face to the fanbase that they themselves helped foster.
This is an insanely different scenario but it would be like Nintendo announcing that they would never make another Mario/Metroid/Zelda/Smash Bros game ever again and that they would focus on FPS and dating sim games moving forward. Entirely different scenario yes but it would similarly be a massive slap in the face to the fanbase that they helped foster over the last 30+ years
Sorry for rambling on about nothing but calling gamers "entitled" is a bad thing. We as consumers have helped build these companies up, we live and breath their games. If they start doing things for corporate greed or stop acting like the company that we know and love, we should be standing up for ourselves and giving our opinions. There have been countless amazing development studios shut down by the big publishers because they are forced to make games for corporate greed. If we as consumers were able to voice our opinions earlier and especially if journalists were (I wish they fucking would) voicing their real opinions earlier, many of these development houses may have been saved. I guarantee that we could look at every developer closure by EA/MS and we as fans would know entirely why they were shut down. Most likely because the publisher went against the grain and made a game that the target audience wasn't interested in.

: Here is the question, why do you care!!? Censored or not you are not going ever play those games, why you care that people who actually interested in those games don't want it to be censored? Its pretty reasonable for people don't want the games they care about be censored.
