I don't know what's worse about this thread. The fact that people think they can shave $150+ off a console by removing the disc drive or fanboys taking the bait and saying "Even if it was $50 it wouldn't be worth it!"
It might be worth it for some, but the masses price isn't the only factor, even at $125-150, it might move some units but I would think the potential Xbox announcements of Xbox Two and the ability to play Xbox games on Windows 10 would counter act the limited sales. At this late in the gen, its doesn't really matter much, Microsoft isn't going to change its strategy even if the Xbox One Cheap sold well, because that is the whole reason why they are going cheap - to get people into their digital eco-system.
My guess is after they start officially announcing some of these services and features the world get flooded by used Xbox One Xs.
The people that think a hardware console war is still going on don't appear to be listening to Microsoft. Microsoft could give two shits as to whether someone buys their console, they just want people in their digital eco-system, they would rather people just install games on the PC from the Microsoft Store. They just trying to salvage their remaining customer base for the MOVE.
