2ND - GOODFELLAHS (26 VOTES)

3RD - PULP FICTION | FIGHT CLUB (TIED ON 19 VOTES)

5[-7]TH - SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION | THE BIG LEBOWSKI | THE MATRIX (TIED ON 14 VOTES)

FUN FACTS:
> The highest scoring film to be mentioned late in the thread was The Matrix, which was not mentioned until post #31, by Hudo Hudo . Represent.
> The widest vote gaps between mentions for one movie was for "Office Space", which was awarded 1 point in Post #4 by eddie4 eddie4 , a point in post #19 by SpiceRacz SpiceRacz , and wayy later a few more in post #53 by Threeshotgamer Threeshotgamer
> The movie which got the most mentions but finished with the lowest collective votes was Starship Troopers, which was mentioned 7 times but only gathered 11 points - averaging 3rd or 4th place per pick.
> The only voters who mentioned movies that nobody else mentioned were kunonabi kunonabi and hacker badass A Alter_Fridge

Well, that's that, and thanks to everyone who participated. This is more fun when you get a good few pages of voting, and neat little statistical trends show up, little factoids~ Anyway, it looks like GAFers tend to love Terminator 2. I for one am shocked and dismayed that The Fifth Element only got one vote - my own.

Jurassic Park, Unforgiven, and the Fugitive should have been much farther up there. This machine's defective lol!

1. The Shawshank Redemption
2. Saving Private Ryan
3. The Matrix
4. Terminator 2: Judgment Day

Naming just four is hard, but those are movies I would rewatch in a heartbeat and I when I think of movies that defined the 90's, I would think of those. I know Shawshank gets a ton of praise, but it really is that good. I find myself watching scenes from that movie every year, and I still tear up at moments.

Damn, missed your post. Oh well, it was fun taking part regardless. I'll definitely take part in your 80's poll. Not as knowledgeable about those movies like 90's though. I have a feeling my choices will be a lot of Horror. The slasher era.

Fuck only one vote for Fear & Loathing? We're gonna have to spike the water supply here at some point...

Intolerable vibrations in this place. Get out. The weasels are closing in. I can smell the ugly brutes.

Shawshank redemption:
its a perfect film

The green Mile:
Again its a perfect film

Terminator 2:
Perhaps the greatest sequel ever made

Fight club:
This film just clicks with me, the tone, the style, the sound track, Brad pitt has the perfect physique (no gay), whats not to like?

Casino:
scorsese master piece, goodfellas is up here, but casino as a film is just better, just the way its shot, the soundtrack, the sound of the bats killing nicky and his brother, is still chilling

Demolition Man is an underrated one. Love that film. One of the Snipes' best roles besides Blade. He's funny as hell in that movie, plays a great bad guy.

This and blade, white men can't jump is also dope

I forgot about that one. He did another film with Woody Harrelson called Money Train as well. A lot of people don't like it, but younger me enjoyed it. Snipes made some good action movies.

Passenger 57, drop zone, new jack city

Passenger 57 was so awesome. One of the most ridiculous movies I've watched, and I loved every minute of it. Can't believe it has such low ratings online.

Early posters in this thread slept on The Fifth Element so those pleb copy-pasters missed it too.

SHAME

1) The Fifth Element
2) The Matrix
3) Saving Private Ryan
4) Pulp Fiction

Fun thread though as narrowing it to a top 4 was extremely difficult. I'd have trouble with a top 10 tbh. Damn the 90s was a great decade for film.
