Overseas version of Final Fantasy: Type-0 confirmed

I figured I'd make a thread for this since few people will see it in the OT.
In the Ultimania, which was released today, when asked about the future of the series, they say that they are currently working on the overseas version and will go from there.

It isn't huge news, but I know lots of people have been waiting for any tidbit on this and wanted more than my saying so a couple of months ago as a level of confirmation.

Yes, we know it was probably going to happen. The question is: PSP1 or PSP2 port?

I'm happy that a lot of people will be able to play it, as it's the best FF game released in years imo.

I think the question is, physical release or digital release?

Vita already upscales digital PSP games.... I think an actual Vita release wouldn't make much sense.

Despite the lack of attention given to individual characters, people deserve a localized version. It will restore some faith in Square-Enix.

PS3 remaster? There's literally no point in a UMD release on PSP, but a PSN release for PSP owners should happen. Would be kind of a dick move not to offer it at all for PSP users.

I think I agree. I haven't had enough time to sit on it yet though. Great game.

My only concern is if it's PSP. I love the PSP but I don't think it will sell enough for a big company like Square Enix.

If it goes retail, it's going to be sent to die, hence possible PSP2 port if that happens.

PSP1 digital release happened in Japan but Square's been really inconsistent on putting their catalog (I'm still waiting for Einhander PSX which has been in Japan PSN for 4 years now) up in the US.

I think the biggest drawback of it being on the PSP would be having to work with one analog :(

It was inevitable. :p

Second demo was an improvement. Looks like I don't have to import anymore. :D
Bigger question is this: PSP, PSP remaster or Vita? Hopefully Vita for the second stick.

Legitimate question. Any chance it might end up on 3DS and get back ported to Japan as an international version? I'll probably be grabbing it on day 1 no matter what it comes out on either way.

Vita games won't be pirated day one, and it can ride on vita's launch hype and hardcore fans looking for early rpg

There was a second demo? o_O Links to this?

Yes, it came out last week or so. It's much larger and gives you a growth egg accessory in addition to the summer clothing to import into the full game. Has the improvements since the last demo that made it into the full game, too.

Just give me a Vita version, since the camera was wonky in the demo.
PSP games on Vita can map things to the right stick so it should be better on Vita regardless.

Not terribly surprising news, but I'm pretty damn happy nonetheless. I'll buy this in whichever form they decide to give it to us in.

Oh I assume it's getting a PSN version for sure. I know they've been inconsistent on PSN releasing in the past, but this is the time of Vita. I think they'll want to be playable on the new hardware.

The only question is whether its getting a UMD release.... I personally think it will. It hasn't been long since the last Square Enix UMD releases, and it's a brand prestige thing. Even if the game itself doesn't make much money, it's really good for brand reputation, and the UMD presence on store shelves itself serves as a kind of marketing.

I do fine with one analog. But I guess I'm used to it since I spend so much time on the PSP.
Two would be nice though. I would re-buy this if it was for the Vita and it utilized the 2nd analog. I would have to think about it if it was coming over for the PSP.

Please keep it on the PSP. I really don't want to have to buy a new system just to play a game that was already released on a system I own.

Thinking about it a little more, I would love for them to sell a UMD+Digital "premium" version, or something similar. I want the Vita control improvements, but I'd also want the game on my shelf.

A Final Fantasy being localized? This is news?

A PSP game being localized is news, yes.
SE's last set of PSP releases bombed terribly, and even they were unsure what they were going to do with Type-0. I knew it was being localized, but not anything about what platform they intend to release it on.

This is fantastic news.
I wasn't entirely getting my hopes up because... Well it's Squenix and they've let me down quite a bit in recent years... But this is good!

When I get a Vita, I'm going to get every PSP game I ever missed out on.

It's going to be so awesome.

ULTROS!

People seem to like me because I am polite and I am rarely late. I like to eat ice cream and I really enjoy a nice pair of slacks.
Provided they're actually on PSN, that is.

I'm guessing every PSP game 2009 onwards (except for Birth by Sleep) got a digital release.

Now if Square Enix will release Crisis Core, Valkyrie Profile, and Star Ocean 1 and 2 on PSN...

Did Birth by Sleep ever get a PSN release? I remember there was some anger about that when it was released.

EDIT: I totally misread your post.
EDIT2: No I didn't, you changed it after the fact! You cheater! Why do you cheat?
