P.T. is not playable on PlayStation 5

It's funny how defensive you are getting considering no one is really even calling P.T. a bad demo.
Yeah, i'm defensive because i can't stand bullshit. Call The Exorcist overrated and you'll see me have the same reaction.

And it upsets you that your opinion is shared by a very vocal minority, as the majority have moved on and just plain don't care about a great horror demo that never amounted to anything.
This is laughable.. if you think my opinion is shared by a very vocal minority (the entire P.T. community is a minority in the first place for obvious reasons) you spent too much time in your safe spaces screaming overrated at everything exclusive to certain systems.
I'm sure the thing being recreated every day, in all kinds of ways and forms and engines or inside other games is because it's overrated by a vocal minority. Nothing to see here.

It's like 5 minutes long and is a tech demo... I played it, was nothing game-changing.
How can it be 5 minutes long with a randomly generated ending that can take up to months to finish, with people still not having a clear idea on how to complete it?
But yeah, you played it.

I was being vicious and implying it's not a full game. It is in fact a demo.

I literally have all systems, still mostly play on PC and I'm a FAN of Silent Hill, have been since the original release back on PS1. Even have P.T. installed on my PC and played it a week ago in V.R. But yeah, I hate it. Like you love having different opinions.

Ya know what? Enjoy your Safe Space in Silent Hill's halls man. You do you. I hope you find the Echo Chamber your looking for.

It works on a hacked systems so no.

would also be emulated on PC eventually, but original releases have value for collectors, a PS4 with a legit PT is set to be very rare because few will sell their PS4s with their account intact.

Good. Let is die. I remember dumping a few hours into it when it first came out. Now, it's time is past. Let the legend die, or just keep your PS4 for the few minutes of enjoyment the demo gives you in a go. It's not even like this is a full game, or even half a game. It's a teaser demo.

If you were to tell me 10 years ago that I would be getting pissed off about a demo of an unreleased game not being available to play on the proceeding generation's console, I would not have believed you for a second. But here we are...

The optimist in me is hoping this just indicates some kind of movement on a proper Silent Hill game, but the realist in me tells me this is just Konami being a bunch of twats.

I think there is license agreements needed for BC games, which have stopped games before from working on BC.

The year is 3173, the last working PS4 console with P.T. demo has been put on eBay for 14 trillion dollars, USA, China and Russia are desperately bidding the offer to get their hand on one of humanity's greatest achievements.

I swear, with each year the game is becoming more and more legendary due to how harder it gets to play it.

Face it guys, every mention of this game has to feel like a thumb in the eye to Konami. A negative publicity generator endlessly reminding people about a failed project and how they lost one of the most notable creatives in all of gaming.

Its like revenge porn!

Who. Fucking. Cares. Anymore.

Seriously people. P.T. was great, absolutely. As far as game demos (if it can be called as such) go it was very awesome. But that's all it was, a demo, and because of #fuckonami it probably never will be anything else. It sucks, but such is life. Shit happens.

So you still want to run down that same corridor time and time again? You do you of course, but multiple recreations already exist on various platforms and engines. Some of which may actually feature more, whatchamacallit... oh I know, gameplay. Which wasn't included that much in the original "game", short of some very obtuse puzzles.

You want to experience P.T.? Look it up on Youtube. It's not going anywhere anymore, this has been known for years, just let it die already.

To still be surprised and shit your pants in the randomly generated portions of the game, with chances of never before seen stuff happening any moment?
Yes.

What? No man, just no. Watching P.T. and playing it are very different things. I'm sure it doesn't seem the case given the limited structure, but it fucking is.
I mean after years and God only knows how many people i've forced to play the game, i still can't play it alone with headphones. And horror is my favourite genre.

It's more like you want to experience P.T.? Look at the countless compilations of reactions on Youtube to have an idea of what the experience is like.

Personal favourite one got removed i guess because i can't find it anymore, the guy was maybe too embarrassed but the game went totally brutal on him with the random stuff, shit was hilarious. Love these two as well:

I'll let you know that I did have P.T. on my OG PS4, and when upgrading to a Pro I contemplated transferring it there. Decided not to, because, it's a fucking demo and you people seriously need to get over it. Also because file transfer over ethernet can take ages. But at any rate, haven't lost any sleep over it. I can say I've played it. Also I can say, as someone who has played it, in the original form, "meh".

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
I loved P.T. but it really was a bit of a "had to be there" kinda game. It's great but for me it didn't have much replay value.

I downloaded it on my PS4 and transferred it to my PS4 Pro where it's still installed. I'm not planning on transferring my PS4 Pro to PS5 so I guess that's where it'll live forever now.

There’s too much to type about why it’s important that PT is preserved.

If you can’t figure it out on your own, games are probably nothing more than a consumable to you. That’s fine, no problem if that’s your perspective, but don’t come in here flabbergasted out of your fucking mind at why people would want to preserve something like this. This isn’t gauge theory.

People care about PT?

If you could transfer it you would, because why would you not want it on your PS5? The demo has value, otherwise no one would care.

So, use the proxy hacks (do they still work? I'm not sure) to re-download it to your PS4. Or buy a PS4 that includes the demo from eBay at a ridiculous price - the world is your oyster! You do you!

But I don't see why a future console should support a demo, even for archival purposes.

What I don't get are the people saying "good" etc. SO lame. If you don't like PT why even bother entering a thread about it?
Right, I must have missed the memo on "you should absolutely gush about a game if you're going to read a thread about it". BRB, checking the FAQ as it apparently has been updated.

Want to give a shout out to my boy Vick Vick for making this thread so all these trolls out themselves. Easy pickings for anyone who wants to ignore people that hop into threads they don't care about just to shit on other people's personal opinion.

Bad news about PT, but a positive overall being able to cut the toxic out.

Oh, I‘m good as far as my copy, but I think it’s important to preserve these sorts of things for posterity. The games industry seems to not care about its own history and making sure that it’s accessible to the future.

Who don't you have on ignore and why do people announce they are going to ignore others in 2020?

this makes the game even more mythological.

stories will be written about it years and years from now. PS4s with PT installed will be collectors items sold for $1000.
At least
I wonder if you can transfer it before going online?
Maybe
What if you install it on PS5 and never update the firmware or go online? :goog_unsure:
So... get a launch PS5. Keep it offline. Transfer over PT. Rent a bank lock box. Leave that PS5 in there. Return in a few decades or so.

I did. I had to be patient but then I made enough money to start my music career. Then I used the profits to buy one of the worlds first time machines and I came back here to share of video of me in the middle of that process.
