This week’s new releases do not make the Top 40 but EA’s ‘SimAnimals’ debuts at No16 on the Wii Full Price chart and at No20 on the DS Full Price chart. On the PC Entertainment Full Price chart Ubisoft debut at No6 with ‘CSI: New York’ and THQ debut at No18 with ‘Saints Row 2’.

One can only imagine the impact that Layton would have had on the UK charts before Christmas had Nintendo actually gotten them into stores. Derp Nintendo!! Derp!!!!

If all DLC came tied to $13 figurines, I'd consider all DLC to be free
Laytion performance is so awesome , really deserves it - easy one of my favorite ds games....

Yes, a hundred times yes (Note to NOE), last week was probably the first week of proper supply so as long as we get the units, Layton will stay there for a while at least.

On that note NOE need to release Layton 2&3 here at some point also, we're gobbling the games up and they will sell bucketloads, come on Ninty, get them out here already.

Is Shaun White Wii sold out often? It seems that it and Raving Rabbids TV Party swap Top 20 showings every other week (with the two barely ever being in at the same time)

Yes please, that way us Americans can import the games since NOA wants to act like Layton does not exist.

Legs to carry an entire planet. They are neither little, nor are they big. They are enduring.

LBP does seem to have genuine legs. And perhaps compared to other PS3 games they seem epic. But let us not get carried away with superlatives when it is just a few spots above Mario Kart DS.

Yes, a couple of times. It went platinum in Jan (>300k).

360 is truly a freaking beast software-wise. I don't know if you listen to me Raist but we defintely need a weighted chart again.

A weighted chart would show complete domination from Wii, since it puts such a big emphasis on the top placers. I do not think it would show what you think it would.

Yeah, this is certainly true. Weight-charts wise, Wii would dominate. In the real world, I'd imagine it'd dominate less though still be in front.

Wii software seems to have had an excellent week this week, continuing on its increases made in around the opening of December. But 360 has been keeping up with, or in front of Wii with total amount in the top 40 since the very first week after the summer holidays when new big titles came out which therefore knocked Wii down a peg or 2 (on the weighted chart only of course, not necessarily in reality).

If the release schedule for non-Nintendo platforms is weak again this summer holidays, Nintendo should have yet another strong summer holiday presence, even if the schedule for Wii and DS is also weak, as it'll again have long-lasting sales typically on those two platforms.

You just don't get it! It depends exclusively on whether there will be a summer break or not, really!

Mario Kart DS probably has some of the most amazing legs ever, in the UK at least, so not too many games compare to the legs that Mario Kart DS has shown (there are a few games like the Brain Training games and some Wii games like Mario Kart Wii, Mario & Sonic at the Olymics, Wii Fit and Wii Play etc. and probably some more Nintendo games that i unfortunately cant remember right now that can be compared though, but concidering how many games that exicst, these games arent really that many, at least in my opinion :)). Mario Kart DS is almost in a class of it's own or what i shall say when it comes to legs and sales preformance :)

When it comes to the LBP legs, i dont think too many here expected that LBP would have this long legs, at least not after seeing the chart position in the UK in the 2-3 first week of sales. Even if the LBP legs might not be close to how the Mario Kart DS legs has been and is, i still think that LBP has shown some great legs so far and that it is ok to use superlatives if someone wants to do that :)

But sure, all is relative and it depends on which games that LBP is being compared with. Compared to the Mario Kart DS legs, then the LBP legs might not look that amazing, i agree to that :) But LBP is still within the UK Top 40 and i think it should be interesting to see how long legs LBP will have :) For all that we know, LBP might end up charting within the UK Top 40 for several of months to come, but we will see what happends :)

EDIT: I added some text.

Layton is indeed getting better stock. Still haven't seen it in a SuperMarket yet though. WiiFit was drying up faster this week (yeah - number one, £80 and still selling out, but good restocks too) so maybe it will get the No1 it deserves in the next few weeks.

Now it's the Book Collection's turn to be scarce (and overpriced online).

The next title in this chain Walk With Me! Do You Know Your Walking Routine? is out Feb 20th and just got a decent sized update to the page at the Nintendo Website. It looks pretty cool and as it's lifestyle and has stuff with it I thought that I might pick it up on launch for £25-£30.

It's £50 RRP. On the DS.

Needless to say, you could buy them now and sell them for more in a few weeks when it sells out (especially over Easter) and is heavily TV advertised, but you have to wonder how much these prices are going to keep climbing. And if it sells well how much of a premium we are going to have on the DSi.

That said I seem to remember it being a fairly similar price to import from JP now (although I'd swear I saw it for £30 originally).

They did miss a trick by not having it out in time for Valentine's day really (face_punchedbyGF)...

There is a LBP Bundle, of course it will stay in the charts - just like Kung Fu Panda on 360...

That is false. Look at the revenue chart. LBP is still #14 yet Kung Fu panda isn't even on there.

Question is : how much cost the hardware, and what does it includes exactly ?

Nintendo_Walk_with_me!_Do_you_know_your_walking_routine

It includes two coloured 'Activity Meters'.

While I believe these to be basic Wireless Pedometers I'm not sure if there is any extra trickery involved as I haven't seen any breakdown things.

Presuming the game to be £30 instead of the usual £20 of the Training series due to Mii stuff and the Wii links (which is one of the reasons I'm interested) then the Pedometers are £10 each.

Although Nintendo are going to sell nicer coloured ones for £20 so maybe it's actually £20 game and two £15 pedometers and not too bad a deal.

And it's £50 RRP in Amazon & Play, but £40 to order. And yeah - I'd have joined the Euro years ago, but then I'm not a banker (and the credit crunch has actually made me much better off due to variable mortgage and recent job change).

But if it was due to bundles, it'd be proportionally down on the Value Charts, and it's actually only one place below (14th) rather than LBP itself which is 13th on the units chart. Since Value doesn't count bundles, we can draw a pretty clear conclusion that the sales for the game are pretty good overall, and is doing well legs-wise.

It doesn't seem to trend downwards at all anymore, it just jumps back and forth randomly from week to week. It's the PS3's first budding evergreen.

Absolutely amazing LBP legs. Well deserved.

Hmmm, practically every game above LBP on the chart came out before LBP, some long before. I'm trying to figure out why you would have settled on picking out LBP to mention. Maybe you can help me out here.

It doesn't seem to trend downwards at all anymore, it just jumps back and forth randomly from week to week. It's the PS3's first budding evergreen.

Why would we expect games to drift down the charts when not many games are launching?

In all seriousness, it is interesting how LBP is outperforming in the UK compared to every other region we have info on. I'm guessing it could be in the top 20 some places in Europe that we don't get that much info.

There is a LBP Bundle, of course it will stay in the charts - just like Kung Fu Panda on 360...

AFAIK chart track doesn't count official bundles sales for games. I think someone mentioned that once. nli10 maybe ?
