It's obviously not for the whole EU and the report is about France. GW2 got a award for 200k units in Germany and it was in the 2012 Topten. Probably at 300k+ in Germany. So 170k for France seems right.

Warner Bros’ new fighting game Injustice: Gods Among Us is the new UK No.1.

It’s the first Warner title to top the UKIE GfK Chart-Track All Formats Top 40 since LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes in mid-2012.

The game improves upon the performance of its spiritual predecessor Mortal Kombat which managed a No.2 debut in early 2011. Injustice matches the sales of fellow brawler UFC Undisputed 3 from back in February 2012.

Nintendo’s critically complimented 3DS strategy title Fire Emblem: Awakening debuts in third place in its first week of release – and that’s despite some reports of limited availability on the High Street.

In addition, the limited edition Fire Emblem 3DS XL accounted for 31 per cent of the hardware’s total UK sales.

Pow! Superhero fighter Injustice: Gods Among Us has knocked BioShock Infinite from the top of the UK all-formats chart.


BioShock Infinite dropped into second place during its fourth week of release.

Nintendo's top-notch tactical RPG Fire Emblem: Awakening scored third. The 3DS sensation spurred system sales, too, with the launch of its special edition blue 3DS XL boosting hardware numbers by 49 per cent.

The release of Injustice: Gods Among Us marks the first time a fighting game has hit the UK's top spot in over a year - since UFC Undisputed 3.

Tomb Raider was fourth this week, while Defiance was fifth and FIFA 13 sixth. Black Ops 2, Luigi's Mansion 2, Tiger Woods 14 and Far Cry 3 rounded out the rest of the top 10.

Warner’s ‘Injustice: Gods Among Us’ debuts at No1 and is the first Warner No1 since ‘Lego Batman DC Superheroes’ which debuted back in week 25, 2012 and held on to the top spot for 5 consecutive weeks. ‘Injustice’ is a fighting game from Netherrealm, the Warner studio that brought us the ‘Mortal Kombat’ reboot which debuted at No2 back in week 16, 2011 (behind ‘Portal 2’ in that week). The last fighting game to gain a No1 footing was THQ’s ‘UFC Undisputed 3’ back in week 7, 2012 which sold almost exactly the same amount in week 1 as ‘Injustice’, with both games released for 360/PS3. 2K/Take 2’s ‘Bioshock Infinite’ (-43%) drops to No2 after 3 weeks at the top and at No3 we have the only other new entry of the week, Nintendo’s 3DS ‘Fire Emblem: Awakening’ which launched alongside a limited edition 3DS XL Blue, taking 31% of all 3DS XL hardware sales this week, helping 3DS XL hardware sales to increase 49% over the previous week.

THQ is back at No.1 with UFC, however the game has failed to match the sales of the previous games in the series.

In fact, the first UFC release in 2009 outsold last week's game by 3 to 1 during the same period, according to GfK Chart-Track.


UFC 2009 released Week 21, 2009 (final week of May 2009). Considering rounding to nearest 1k it sold between 95,000-96,998 week one (90%), or 105,556-107,776 (100%) ... I'll just upweight everything to 100% from now on.

3 to 1 is obviously rounded, but we can assume it's closer to 3-1 than 2-1 or 4-1, so between x2.5-3.5.

Ufc Undisputed 3

Min: 105,556 / 3.5 = 30,159
Ave: 106,667 / 3.0 = 35,556
Max: 107,776 / 2.5 = 43,110

Sales increased by 50% compared to last week thanks to FE bundle, not that it accounts for 50% of total sales this week. It accounts for 31% of total sales.

Still. If the bundle of such a niche game increased the sales by 50%, it means that the baseline was pretty low to begin with.

If all DLC came tied to $13 figurines, I'd consider all DLC to be free
Such good performance was expected in France or Germany....but in UK ? I am impressed.

30:60 split has been about the norm for PS3 and 360, so everything outside the top 10 is probably less than 3K.

Well, it obviously is a relatively big title. Apparently there's only TWO (out of thousands) titles in the UK that sold better than Fire Emblem last week.
Dunno how that should prove that 3DS isn't selling..

Its impressive because UK is probably the one big market where the 3DS is facing the most problems + many many J-RPGs/S-RPGs didnt really perform well there. Really nice debut...

3DS is not selling well in UK, period. We've known this since, I don't know, last year? And this is showed by how few 3DS titles there are in the chart. Fire Emblem probably sold something like 10-12k units this week (which is in fact a great result for the series at this point), the fact that it's third means nothing in such a slow week. Again, if a game such as Fire Emblem led to a huge increase in hardware sales (50%, right?) means that the baseline was abysmally low to begin with.

Glad to see Fire Emblem there. 3DS goty for me for the moment. It will drop much faster than Luigi though, but still it's on track to be one of the most successful chapters in the series worldwide, and rightfully so.
