Warner’s ‘Injustice: Gods Among Us’ debuts at No1 and is the first Warner No1 since ‘Lego Batman DC Superheroes’ which debuted back in week 25, 2012 and held on to the top spot for 5 consecutive weeks.

‘Injustice’ is a fighting game from Netherrealm, the Warner studio that brought us the ‘Mortal Kombat’ reboot which debuted at No2 back in week 16, 2011 (behind ‘Portal 2’ in that week).

The last fighting game to gain a No1 footing was THQ’s ‘UFC Undisputed 3’ back in week 7, 2012 which sold almost exactly the same amount in week 1 as ‘Injustice’, with both games released for 360/PS3. 2K/Take 2’s ‘Bioshock Infinite’ (-43%) drops to No2 after 3 weeks at the top and at No3 we have the only other new entry of the week, Nintendo’s 3DS ‘Fire Emblem: Awakening’ which launched alongside a limited edition 3DS XL Blue, taking 31% of all 3DS XL hardware sales this week, helping 3DS XL hardware sales to increase 49% over the previous week.

Fire Emblem at number 3, pretty decent I guess.

Is Tomb Raider doing well because it's practically half price at this point.

The Birthday Skeleton
What is interesting is that in the Individual formats chart by value Lego City Undercover is at 22, while in the units chart is nowhere to be found. Are there so many cheap games charting ?

Luigi's Mansion 2 has far exceeded my expectations, and from the looks of it Fire Emblem will be the same.

3DS software is selling!

The Western success of the Luigi and Fire Emblem combo continues.

You see, Nintendo, this is what happens when you put out good content for one of your consoles.

Two copies sold? That's not a bomb guys, stop trolling!!!
It's great to see a Fire Emblem title debuts so high after the last two entries in UK didn't even enter specific Wii top 40 or DS top 50 when they got released.

That's nice for Fire Emblem. It just came out this friday didn't it? So that's three days of sales? Or two?

Two (Friday and Saturday). Like almost every European release of games.

It's so strange to see Luigi's Mansion still very high on Amazon.com (actually, it's virtually first, since all the other places are for XBLA cards and FIFA 13 at 9.99 for PC) despite being priced at 54.99$ now :lol The demand is very high.

It's the same situation on Amazon.de - it's basically number one but there are XBLA cards and one game for free at the higher spots

There are only 5 units of LM2 left, too - seems like there is huge Luigi demand in the world

Pie and Beans

Look for me on the local news, I'll be the guy arrested for trying to burn down a Nintendo exec's house.
UK market undoomed this week then? ;)

Good show for Fire Emblem. Will give it a look when I get a 3DS at some point. 3DS hardcore owners were mostly all primed to be getting these two games really.

Probably it has also something to do with Nintendo having problems in understanding demand / producing carts, like FE. Even if not that crazy...I hope :lol, and with a much higher demand to begin with.

Luigis Mansion success really is crazy. Its struck the right cord in all the regions it seems. Gamecube one was always an interesting concept but just seemed like one of those one and done franchises.

Good news for Fire Emblem; but not that shocking given the amount of adverts I've seen for it (especially on Sky Sports News of all places).

So with Injustice at around 35k the best case scenario for FE is 17k ?

I don't think so.

Guardian top 20

BI 360 - 6.3k (61%)
BI PS3 - 3.3k (32%)
BI PC - 624 (6%)

Bioshock Infinite total: 10.2k

All-formats:

1 INJUSTICE: GODS AMONG US
2 BIOSHOCK INFINITE 10.2k
3 FIRE EMBLEM: AWAKENING

1 INJUSTICE: GODS AMONG US XB360
2 INJUSTICE: GODS AMONG US PS3
3 FIRE EMBLEM: AWAKENING 3DS
4 BIOSHOCK INFINITE XB360 6.3k

=> 6.3k < FIRE EMBLEM: AWAKENING < 10.2k

(That assumes Mpl90 number is right. I also don't know if that's 90% or 100%).

btw, thanks, jvm, for always putting a link to the new thread.

Luigi is doing great all over Europe.
Third week in a row in France as number 1?

Not too surprising, there's been a ton of ads for it, as well as for Fire Emblem Awakening.

FE was out of stock at several places I've checked out on release day, I think it may dethrone Luigi's Mansion in France.

For LM2's ad they had the French voice of Christopher Lloyd, that was pretty cool.

Unfortunately, GFK forgot to tell us how much Tomb Raider dropped compared to last week. :(

seems like there is huge Luigi demand in the world

I think Luigi's mansion may have sold already in the range of 1.5m worldwide, that is quite amazing actually, seeing how this is not a main Mario platform and on top of that is a little spooky one.

Nintendo's choice to relaunch Luigi as opposed to Mario is a winning one so far; Luigi's popularity may be an asset for Nintendo to bank on in the foreseeable future, I just hope they don't overdo it.

Is it just me or these sales are...... terrible? =/

I don't get how 6.3> sales are considered good for a 3DS exclusive SRPG, which has gotten heaps of critical praise and strong word of mouth.

How much did previous sRPG sell in UK? I mean, those are not great numbers, but for Fire Emblem are quite good.

The sales are bad across the board so in context a hardcore game, an anime SRPG on a platform that is lucky to get one or two titles in the top 30 debuts at 3rd place does seem good for franchise, yeah.

Went into my local GAME at the weekend to find they didn't have Fire Emblem in stock. Upon enquiring as to how many copies they'd had in, I was told "13 - We'll get more in now they've sold out". Also no sign of NFSMW or Injustice on Wii U. GAME's U display/stock is abysmal....

Consider it's much higher than 6.3k, since in the All SKUs chart it's 3rd, and Tomb Raider is 4th.
Actually, let me make a little estimate

BI on PS3 did 3.3k, 10th, while TR for PS3 is 8th.
So, TR for PS3 higher than 3.3k. Since PS3 SKU represented 42% of overall sales this week, TR (All) > 7.9k.

Fire Emblem doesn't normally scratch the UK chart at all. This is a decent result by any measure.

It's probably one of the best selling SRPGs in the UK ever. I don't see how that can be considered bad.
