Activision Blizzard’s ‘Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy’ remains at No1 which makes 4 weeks out of 5 at the top of the All Formats Top 40 All Prices (Units).

Last week’s big Nintendo Switch new entry ‘Splatoon 2’ remains at No2 and Rockstar/Take 2 remain at No3 with ‘Grand Theft Auto V’. This week there are multiple promotions from many retailers across the whole Top 40, such as 3 for 2 deals, classic price promotional activity and many hardware/software bundle deals.

Bethesda do very well this week from such activity and take No4/No5/No6 with ‘Fallout 4’, ‘Doom’ and ‘Dishonored 2’. New at No7 is Nintendo’s 3DS ‘Miitopia’ and new at No8 is Alternative’s ‘Rugby League Live 4’. EA drop 1 place to No9 with ‘FIFA 17’ even though sales are up 42% over last week. Ubisoft climb 7 places to No10 with ‘Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Wildlands’ up 94% over last week as the overall average price drops by over £5 compared to the previous week.

Sony climb 8 places to No11 with ‘Horizon Zero Dawn’ remaining extremely popular as a when-bought-with PS4 deal. EA’s ‘Battlefield 1’ is a massive climber this week, up 24 places to No14 thanks to some very strong price promotion activity. In amongst all the deals this week is another new release, again for 3DS and from Nintendo comes ‘Hey! Pikmin’ at No29.

What's the word which makes you crave something when you can't buy stock and everyone is talking about it?

I haven't seen it in stock other than at CEX

You missed:

- Crash being deeply ingrained in European video game culture
- Crash being cheaper
- PS4 install base >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Switch install base

I doubt Nintendo Switch install-base has even reached the ltd sales of Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy. There is no point in comparing one game to each other to measure their performance.

Crash is performing incredibly well and Splatoon 2 is performing very well too.

That Battlefield 1 +212% is interesting.

A couple of retailers (Tesco Direct, Argos) have had it on a price promotion this week. It's only £19.99 at Tesco Direct. I also think it's the Dunkirk effect.

I was in the cinema to see Dunkirk and a trailer for Call of Duty WWII came on. That, combined with the film itself, put me right in the mood for a war shooter.

Obviously, WWII isn't out yet, so I ordered Battlefield 1 as soon as I got home (lol, adverts had the opposite effect to what Activision would have wanted for them).

Haven't played a single shooter on this gen, so I'm looking forward to it, especially on my new, much lower lag OLED.

About 300k Switch owners against more than 10x as many PS4 in households Also Splatoon 2 is a full price games while the Crash nSane is a budget title.

Its really not that difficult to understand xD

Looks like Splatoon 2 had a much better hold in its second week, doing pretty much the numbers of the first one's opening week. If it holds in the top 5 for the next week, we're looking at Splatoon becoming a bigger franchise in the UK as well.
