I'm Dutch and i've never heard of it either. Perhaps it's only well known in France?
I'm pretty sure it's rather well-known in Germany.I'm Dutch and i've never heard of it either. Perhaps it's only well known in France?
UK here. It's one of my favourite books, I own it in English and French, and at a friends birthday party when I was young the parents put on a VHS of an animated version to entertain 30 kids, so it's somewhat well known here.I'm Dutch and i've never heard of it either. Wouldn't have been good anyway, considering the source material.

I had no idea who The Little Prince were either, from Scandinavia.
Now I want to watch the movie though.
My coworker laughed when I said I was going to watch Zootopia this weekend. He says he's a grown up and doesn't watch that stuff. I don't understand some people
Probably the best selling book behind the lord of the rings. It's a cool children's book. I watched an animated tv show based on it, as a kid. Had no idea a movie was being made.

The fact that the movie only got a limited Dutch-dubbed release and went exclusively to VOD after didn't help the movie either.I'm Dutch and i've never heard of it either. Perhaps it's only well known in France?
I'm legitimately stunned that there's people here that haven't heard of The Little Prince.
No offence, but your post is quite funny considering The Little Price is a book first and foremost and that's what the poster you quoted meant.I'm on film fan websites literally every day (like Birth.Movies.Death) and also had never heard of The Little Prince until now.
It doesn't seem like it got much coverage at all, which is probably why Paramount felt comfortable dropping it, because they didn't even let anybody in America know about it to begin with.

If you ever took French class you would've known about this book.
edit: somewhat related

I'm also very surprised that so many Europeans don't know it.

America don't care about The Little Prince. Like I never even knew about it until speaking to Europeans online.
Correct, it only opened in Quebec.
However, it started rolling out to other provinces this weekend. It just opened in Toronto, at least.
Drop means released
Dumped means, well I'm not quite sure.
