Parents Magazine uses 4yo boy to push narrative: "Some men have periods too, If I can get [understand] it so can you." Clown World 2020.

Parents magazine earlier this week highlighted what it called a "super-cute" photo of a 4-year-old boy holding a sign that reads, "some men have periods, too; if I can get it, so can you."

The magazine's Instagram post of the image, along with accompanying text, comes from Milly Bhaskara, a mother from Hull, England, who is "showing parents how easy it is to introduce your [kids] to the concept that women aren't the only people who menstruate," Parents said.
The magazine said Bhaskara has 173,000 followers and is known for posts on mental health awareness and body acceptance.

Here's more of what she wrote with the photo: "Some men have periods. Some non-binary people have periods. Some women have periods. Eli has been told about periods since he saw blood on my pants a couple of years ago ... I didn't use the language of women have periods because it's not entirely inclusive."
Have you ever notices\d how the term "Man" is untouched, it's not on a spectrum, all men are apparently inherently bad and abuse women every 10 seconds, and we shouldn't have more of them.

But the term women is just some random thing that means nothing and can apply to anything at any time and shouldn't be used to address a specific group. You know, the group that's still in reality.

Oh, and someone should tell that boy that he CAN'T get it and that they lied to him. ;)

Ok so which orifice does he bleed from exactly? And if it’s the ass, why isn’t CPS visiting his fucktard parents and throwing a blanket party on them?

Something about the smug stupidity of this literally gave me a tension headache. I furrowed my brow too much.

I don't get it. Why is talking about "males" and "females" considered offensive now? The basic facts of life are now considered offensive. I'm assuming that is a male kid, so he can never have a period. I'm a male adult, so I can never have a period. Saying that you "can" do something means it is possible for you to do something. Having a period is literally impossible for half of the population.

i mean he is a male i will give him that

he'll be a man after puberty

also i doubt he wrote that sign

i do not believe men can have periods because periods require vaginas, that is in the same sense that women cannot ejaculate semen because semen requires cock and balls

well, i guess these days women can artificially have cock and balls that can ejaculate semen

i guess i'm wrong

under artificial conditions i suppose men can have periods, that is in the same sense that women can ejaculate semen because they have artificially acquired cock and balls

imagine having a ball sack with several different balls for different human races and animal species

you just push a labelled button on your hip and suddenly you can get down with wombat and start a family

i bet if a girl was told she could give birth to one of these she'd do it in a heartbeat

A Vagina is not the main requirement for a period (though its a part of the process). A period is the shedding of the Uterine wall. You need a Uterus and you need to be capable of ovulating.
Only REAL women have this feature.

Thanks to things like this mental illness will rise by about 3000% - 10000% within the next ten years and suicide rates will sykrocket. And that's only a rather conservative estimate.

Apparently that four year old is used for numerous propaganda by the Magazine. I expect he will be named Mary by age 10.

I remember when I used to role my eyes every time I heard some conservative ideologue demand support for something by saying "Think of the children!"

Times are a-changin'

I'm reminded of the woman who claimed to get pregnant from watching porn.

This boy was bleeding from somewhere, and some adult used "must be a male period" as a far fetched explanation to get off the hook with their spouse.

That is some ugly child exploitation right here. Fucked up priorities.

The notion "if I can get it so can you" makes no sense whatsoever. I do not think we can decide to get the period (And why would anyone want that? It is not exactly comfortable), so independent of gender, either one can get the period because one is biologically female, or one cannot (because one has no uterus or is too old).

EDIT: Actually, the woman who made this seems to have made a mistake on the board. She meant "get it" as "understanding it" (which is formally ok, but in the context misleading). On Instagram she offers a description of the picture which says: "Eli who is the cutest slice of pie is holding a pin board sign. It says ‘some men have periods too, if I can grasp it so can you’.".

Still uses a kid to forward an agenda. They can play word salad all they want, there ain't no getting around that. Still not quite sure how she can defend the statement "some men get periods too." Does she mean some men get bitchy during certain times of the month? Because any sane, rational, biologically competent person knows that men DO NOT get periods. If you are a man bleeding from the ass that isn't called a period, that's called a trip to the ER.

Are you deliberately playing dumb? Trans-men (before operation, if young enough) can obviously get the period because they are biologically female and this is what this sentence is about.

Annddddddd this changes what exactly? Men still can't get them.
It was portrayed here and (mis)understood by many (including me) as claiming the boy who is biologically male, was told by his mother that he can have the period too and that the sign was saying that everyone can get the period. Which is not what the sign is saying. "Trans men are not men" is not nearly as uncontroversial a statemen as "a human of male sex cannot get the period". If you knew that this sign was saying something different than it first appears, then this thread was made in bad faith.

This has nothing to do with trans-men they have a fucking biological boy holding a fucking sign saying men can get periods and that's what the magazine is pushing, What 4389583509u309 degree spin are you using and what drugs are you snorting to come up with it?

This is also not about the boys "mom" it's about what Parents Magazine is pushing, you're basically trying to off-load reality. That's the part you ignored, this was done intentionally. You think this was an accident? lol ok.

What relevance does it have that the boy is biologically male? Since it is about understanding that men (more specifically, trans men) can get the period, it is not relevant what sex the kid has.

I am not a fan of using children for political issues, as I have said many times. But portraying this as the lunacy of claiming a biological male can get the period - which it clearly is not - is disingenuous.

No, you and the mod who edited the title are both wrong, didn't read the article, and/or didn't notice that Parents magazine proxies have been defending the stand of the article and the original title of the thread. You know the article, about Parents magazine, not the boys mom.

His "mom" making up excuses has nothing to with the news, and that's about Parent Magazine who was clearly pushing this "mistake" if it was one, in their advantage. Using someone unrelated to the actual scandal doesn't change the topic.

There nothing disingenuous except this attempt to valid date Parents magazine and invalidate the article by using a third party. But it's ok I'm sure there will be 400 more of these news stories since using kids as propaganda is popular now, and they won't be so easy to spin. But i do think your method of deflecting from the actual article doesn't really help anything and will just give them more ground to do worse things to kids. I think it's long been time to stop making excuses for these people but some don't I guess.

Yes, four year olds have periods of playing with Duplo. Some adult men have periods of playing with LEGO. I have periods of playing videogames.

I honestly wonder if this is some kind of 5 lights dominance thing.

Like you just say shit you know is a lie and challenge others to not accept it as a form of cult dominance.

I just can’t fathom it any other way.

But they are not men. They are trans men. Are we going to just conflate the two? As far as I’m concerned they are not the same. One has a set of nuts and shoots sperm, the other does not. There is a biological difference that exists and will always exist between those two classifications. Just as a trans woman doesn’t have ovaries and never will.

I think his parents mean Transmen can have periods. Not natural born men.
Do they generally get them, though? I would have thought that the hormone therapy would interfere with that, like how hormonally-transitioned transwomen tend to be impotent and have oligospermia or sterility.
