Lawyers urge for streaming from

An unusual warning have prevailed Urmann + colleagues at the Regional Court of Cologne . It's about a film that was used on a streaming platform .

Lawyers have warned the user of a streaming platform . The reports of the lawyer Karsten guilders on 5 December 2013. " A warning for streaming? Previously unthinkable. But U + C Rechtsanwälte teach us a lesson. Us is now probably the first streaming warning before that soon could move the masses ," said the lawyer specializing in copyright and media law.

Urmann + colleagues have Golem.de confirms the warning. Information on how the Abmahner came to the user data were not made.

The lawyers represented in the proceedings before the District Court in Cologne the company The archives AG. This is about the streaming of movies & Amanda 's Secrets on the platform Redtube.com declared Gulden . The IP address and user ID are listed in the warning . Gulden reported : "Even we do not know how the data was backed up and where , since the site is hosted in the U.S. and this is not reflected also from the warning. "

In legal terms, the warning is likely to be vulnerable , as may be questioned whether in fact copyrights are infringed by the stream , so guilders.

Urmann + colleagues represents mainly porn movie producers , according to Süddeutsche Zeitung . About the plan of the firm from Regensburg, to make the names of their opponents in public copyright processes , it has been reported much in 2012. However, the district court forbade the eating lawyers with an interim measure , to publish the name and address of a Abgemahnt . U + C wanted to the do not bend and respond to this arrangement with an application to the Bavarian Administrative Court. Since then, there have been no further information about the conflict .

Well its just one law firm that is sending out a warning (they will sue them if they dont pay 250€ to the law firm. The practise is called a Abmahnung) to several people that viewed 4 videos from one US porn producer. Maybe its just a money grab thing because lawyers see problems with sueing people for a video stream. Because you dont upload anything (which is the illegal part in the German copy right law) and the streamed movie is only stored partly and temporary on your device.

If a video store is broadcasting a movie on the TVs in its store, is it illegal to watch it?

Porn trolls are a very real thing. Sometimes they don't even own the copyrights of the films in question, they just blackmail people en masse and hope to shame them enough so they pay before going to court.

Hmm, how does one get into this. I want to shame my brother and see if it works.

How would you know you were in violation of copyright? Wouldn't the onan be on the host?

Nope. I might translate the heise article because it's pretty interesting, but it seems users were redirected to specific sites (without their knowledge/content) with steams that the company held copyright for.

Well that is some shady shit.

Edit: Your edit is even dodgier. So the company suing was doing the streaming?

Nope. I might translate the heise article (tomorrow) because it's pretty interesting, but it seems users were redirected to specific sites (without their knowledge/content) with steams that the company held copyright for, apparently those that accidentally visited redtube.net instead of redtube.com, the former which might have been registered this year potentially with the sole intent of tricking users. Redtube apparently denies all involvement and there's strong indication that a lot of dirty stuff (no joke intended) is involved in the case.

Wow this is some shady shit. lol.

Just btw. these people aren't getting sued - in fact suing these people is the last things these fuckers wanna do, because they'd most likely lose every single case. They are simply mailing people and hope they'll pay.
This whole thing (having read a tad more about how they obtained the IP adresses, how they apparently cheated to get the identities of the people etc.) screams fraud and I hope it backfires and costs this fucking law firm tons of money.

It's late, I had a shit weekend and I'm pretty tired, so maybe someone else will bother to give a quick translation of this article:http://www.heise.de/newsticker/meld...essen-Ermittlung-verdichtet-sich-2065879.html

Edit:
Also as said below, they're not suing them, it's C&D letters with a fee they're demanding. They're essentially targeting people with porn in hope that less people take it to court in that case.

Ah, so not sued, but dodgy as fuck. Cheers. I refer to my first post in the thread then, blackmail is alive and well.

It is no danger. I am on my phone right now. Can anybody search on youtube for "Wildebeuger und Solmecke Rechtsanwaltskanzlei"? They got videos on the topic.
Info: they're not some youtubers with a opinion, they are real attorneys.
