I would argue the riots were much worse in terms of affecting average Americans, both in terms of deaths and dollar cost property damage.
I agree but putting them on a No Fly list would be pointless. Most of those people rioting are taking out payday loans to put gas in their car. Flying on an airplane would be a once in a lifetime experience for those poor trashy fuckers.

True enough.

I am more concerned with the labeling of ideological enemies as Domestic Terrorists — it is a label not being evenly applied regardless of similar crimes committed. In fact in the media some are being hailed as heroes while the others demonized.

I find the whole double standard really troubling and a warning as to where this is leading in terms of acceptable political beliefs.

I hope the feds look at every inbound flight to DC the days and weeks prior and then scrub their social media to see if they can link them to being inside of the capitol building or outside trashing windows or killing officers.

Looks like the Trump terrorists that attacked the Capitol January 6th are being added to the no-fly list and predictably are handling it with the grace and understanding you would expect:

If you riot and attack the foundations of our democracy, what do you expect to happen? At least have the balls to face up to what you've done.
lol why is he crying? hes a grown ass man. take amtrack, greyhound or rent a car. this isnt the end of the world. and even if it was, you shouldnt be crying like a little bitch.

lol these terrorists are fucking idiots

Think if it from their perspective. I don't ask you to try to understand how they got brainwashed and tricked, but these were the true believers. They were fully bought in to the narrative that the election was stolen beyond the shadow of a doubt and that the establishment had been compromised completely. This was their last ditch effort to make things right and the president just gave them his blessing to go in and show strength! They probably went in their expecting Trump to swoop in with the military. Little did they know they had been completely conned.

Not trying to justify their actions or even excuse them of course.

Oh I believe it. There’s a video floating around of one moron who truly believed Trump was literally leading the march, in person and at the front, to the Capitol building.

Trump himself misled people at the rally beforehand. In his speech, he kept saying "we" will march, "we" will protest at the Capitol. In reality, apparently he was barred ahead of time from going with the protesters, or even going near the Capitol. (Don't have the source for this on hand, apologies.)

I actually don’t disagree with too much here. However, I do feel like the symbolism of rushing the capitol building and attacking democracy in practice, is different then burning down buildings against systematic racism. One also began as a response, the other was premeditated.

I also think both sides have those who don’t care about the issues at all and are just there to create chaos.
How was burning down businesses against systemic racism?

Is the response always these whataboutisms
Always. While the riots associated with the BLM protests are unfortunate, and were certainly terrifying for the neighborhoods, I can't twist it around in my head to call it terrorism. The riots weren't about BLM. They were about opportunistic rioting. The Capitol attack was a coordinated attack designed to influence, subvert, or possibly overthrow the government.

Let's call it 'opportunistic insurrection,' if we're just going to make up excuses for whatever group we more closely identify with.

Do you agree we should be going over the footage of BLM riots from the summer with a fine tooth comb to add those domestic terrorists breaking into American businesses to these same no fly lists?

No. Things were different then and things have escalated since.
Maybe they should have done more back then but they didn't. And that is that.

We do not go back and retroactively dish out new punishment because things are different today. Society can not work that way.
That said, going forward, I think it would be a good idea to put everyone that riots and attack a public/government building to be put on a no-fly-list as well as bunch of other lists.

Can you at least admit that the heart of the issues for BLM and the recent capital riots were completely different and not like comparing apples to apples?
One of them is based on reality where multiple states either didn't enforce their own election laws, or blatantly violated them with the judicial branch deciding it's okay because reasons, and the other is based on a false narrative.

At least there are realizations from some of them on how the police treat black citizens.
The same way they treat everybody else?

Theres definitely a difference in that detained person’s mind. Who says “You’re treating me like a fucking black person” when they get arrested? Sounds like someone who knows black people get treated differently in confrontations with the police.

Edit: Looks like it’s from 2018

Epstein, a self-proclaimed conservative Republican, later said he was actually making a political statement of sorts.

"I’m a Trump guy," Epstein told WESH. "But until the police fix this problem, I don’t blame black people for being upset when they get arrested."

If they were federal properties, then probably yes since this is a federal list. But most of those people are basically ghosts and the people at the capitol building sort of proudly showed off what they were doing. I doubt they’ll make that mistake twice.

The biggest mistake everyone at the rally made was going unmasked and even smiling for the camera... My first thought when I saw all the footage was 'gee, its almost like you ACTUALLY BELIEVE you won't be identified!'...

I do. They arrested a shitload of people. Cyrptoadam made a few threads on them. I’m assuming they couldn’t fly if there’s a warrant for their arrest?

Weeks and weeks of riots were tolerated by the Left. Riots that resulted in multiple deaths and untold amounts of property damage. With perpetrators being let go by DA’s even in the few cases of arrests.

Where were the “Domestic Terrorist“ calls then?

Im not even necessarily against using the label in this case. But let’s see some uniformity in our outrage and demands for justice?
I wonder if the antifa guy at the capitol that was interviewed by msm after having social media posts organizing other antifa to come on jan 6, and tweets suggested was out and let go, will be put on no fly lists.

If they weed out the dumbasses then the evolution of this is a bunch of unidentifiable (masked/helmeted) shock troopers, which to me would be way more terrifying than the buffoonery on display here on the 6th.

Nailed it... They're not going to make the same mistake again. I'm willing to bet next time anyone does this they're going to deliberately wear the colors and/or logos of the other side.

Ahh Parler sounds great already

Their staff are also deleting violent threats against the Vice President and congress members. Probably gonna be hard for them to cope being "SILENCED" on a company's software.

I wonder how many of the people who burned down cities, looted stores, burned police cars and curb stomped people who were just trying to defend their property all across America this summer, how many of them have been labeled as terrorists or are on no-fly lists now?

Just as your response is always deflection.

The labeling of so called Domestic Terrorists by government and media, labels being fueled by opponents political ideology is gross given the mass riots that just took place In American cities this summer.

No such label was applied to BLM rioters, nor to Antifa attacking the Federal Courthouse in Portland for several weeks. In fact the opposite happened with big name politicians encouraging these actions.

So yes, the double standards are extremely concerning. Rules for thee but Not for me ...
Umm weird I swear to remember unmarked vans picking up ppl off the streets...

Walk it off, terrorist sympathizer.
Be careful not to fall off that high horse.

This is the latest way your kind is trying to dehumanize conservatives. The last 4 years we’ve dealt with being called nazis, racists, homophobes, etc. You’re loving the fact that you can now call us terrorists and terrorist sympathizers, too

You are a bad person and you should repent of your ways and learn the difference between good and evil.

I think it is fake news.

You cannot be put on a no fly list just because someone on Twitter claimed that you were at the Capitol.

It doesn't work that fast.

You'd be surprised, especially if they were one of the idiots that recorded their oh-so brave antics and posted it on their own account. In that case they're doing the work for them.
