People who send you game invites when you're playing another game

What the hell is up with this shit? I was playing Uncharted 3, and yet I constantly got match invites from people playing Black Ops. What the fuck? You expect me to get up, change discs, and put in another game because you invited me? What the hell? You see what game I'm playing so why would you invite me when I'm not even PLAYING THE GAME!?

Sorry, but this infuriates me to no end. Anyone else have this happen to you?

according to one of my friends in PSN, it's just so damn easy to invite in Blops that sometimes he even invites by mistake

I always appear offline when I don't want to play with other people (eg awesome single player experience). On Xbox or steam it is really easy to do so. Don't know on PS3.

Nobody ever invites me to play anything unless we've already agreed to play.

As long as they aren't spamming them, I don't mind them, but I am thinking in the context of steam, where most of the time I can simply talk to them a bit. "Hey kirby, play some Sanctum with us", "Ok, give me about 5 minutes to finish up this level", ect ect.

Boney keeps inviting me to play TF2 and have fun with him. Asshole.

But seriously, it's really annoying on Xbox Live. WHO AT EPIC THOUGHT IT WOULD BE GREAT TO ADD A BUTTON THAT INVITES EVERYONE YOU KNOW TO PLAY GEARS 2? Why does that exist?

Black Ops is literally pressing one button to invite.

He probably went through his FL and pressed triangle to everyone online.

Yes it happens to me but I tend to ignore it and they don't send me invites anymore.

Certain people just spam invites to every friend online. You hit one button in Gears and invites go out to everyone online. I wouldn't send individual invites to people outside of the game though. I don't see the big issue either way. Don't accept the invite.

Can you not turn off notifications?
To go off on a tangent, fuck this. I don't want to see people signing in and out every five seconds so I turned off notifications, but it turns off ALL notifications on PS3 and I might actually want to be notified when someone sends me a message, which happens far less often.

I hate that.

I don't mind it. I kind of like it, as long as people don't spam me with invites.

People sending me an Invite while playing another game, it's fine. People sending me 15 invites over and over it's irrational.

Edit: Thread needs more "old man yell at cloud.jpeg"

No one ever wants to talk to me. I walk down the street and people throw themselves into traffic just to avoid having a conversation.

I don't get why I get game invites from people I've never met before for games I've never played.

That's the worst part. I don't want online notifications. I don't want game invites (usually). I don't want trophy/achievement notifications. I want message notifications and party chat invites.

I hate it when its a game that I dont have, though I guess no one checks their friend details enough to see if the one they are inviting has the game.

Some games have an "invite all friends" option which doesn't care if you have the game or not, I think that's what would be causing that.

I usually send them a message back saying, "You piece of shit mother ****er. Next time you send me an invite, I'll punch you and that son of yours in the face. Go ahead, send another one."

One of those reasons why that I am not an "multiplayer online gamer I guess.
I never understood the appeal of cross game chat, would never want to use it. As for messages, when I am playing a game it's for a reason, don't invite me. It's useless. I also never answer in that case anyways.
