Phantasy Star Online 2 Import |OT2| Item Names in English!

I didn't know they did a Fate/stay night crossover.

I just saw Gilgamesh's sword in a player shop.

And they're doing a Fate/Hollow Altraxia content pack, which includes stuff from that game, plus Saber Alter and more Prisma Illya stuff. I might just get Bazett's suit, Fragarach and Excalibur Morgan, that shit is BOSS. I already have Rin's full set, shame they don't have her Kaleido Ruby costume.

I haven't been able to play this in like, a year. What's some of the neatest stuff that's been introduced? I saw a new class and the casino and stuff.

Jeez, that's a lot of new stuff. Is the GAF group still active? My old team seems to not have anyone ever active when I'm playing (most of 'em probably left because of the IP thing) so if the GAF team is active that'd be pretty swell.

This game still looks so awesome to me. One of only modern Sega games that actually looks to still have that Sega magic.

Ive given up the dream of it ever coming out here... :(

says that the server is down for maintenance i think. This is the first time i've tried playing in about a year. Is it really down for maintenance?

Gonna try out this game! I played it slightly on PC when it came out years ago, but figured I should try again since more and more people seem to play it now. It seems like I know a few people who play this, just when I thought the game died out in the west. I'm on a binge to find my new timewaster, and PSO2 is next up (tomorrow).

Have you ever seen him grab a darker out the air and smash the shit outta it? He was trying to do that to me. So I kicked the shit outta him. :p

So, I'm probably quitting my team as not only am I continuing to not see people online, but it recently put a bunch of offensive crap all over the team room and changed the name. Been checking on the team leaders mentioned in the OP but they're never online and/or haven't even posted in the topic in months, so if any of the 64 managers could set up a contact with me that'd be keen.

I'm hearing from several sources that some ISPs that could not connect to the game before can now. If you can load http://pso2.jp chances are you can connect to the game servers.

EDIT: Yep, I can connect from home again. I took the time to see if I could stream effectively while playing (recording here) too.

I was definitely not looking forward to dealing with this first thing

So I actually wrote a post that announced that I was streaming again tonight... and for some reason, never actually hit the Submit button. orz

Anyway, the game was being extraordinarily mean tonight, so the recording is probably an entertaining watch at my expense.

Looks like my apartment's internet is able to connect to the website again, which means I can play without a proxy

I might be tempted to jump in again, haven't played in almost 2 years and I'm in a gaming mood again

I haven't touched this game since the open beta. After struggling to get my account back up and going, I played a bunch over the weekend. With the partial translations that I now have, this game is pretty great. I'm still a little confused on how to unlock more missions to do. I'm guessing I have to do more stuff on the Matter Board. There's just so much going on, it's taking me some time to get used to it all. Seems like the took some stuff they did in Phantasy Star Universe, made it way better, and threw in the stuff you wanted from PSO.

I might even be tempted to buy some ARKS Cash, but trying to figure out the best use for it. Seems like getting your inventory to 100 would be a big plus. I'd like more costumes, but I probably wouldn't have the best luck with the scratch system.

No, you need to take client orders from Koffie to unlock new areas, although I suggest also completing the episode 1 matterboard at the same time. Koffie is the middle lady with the short silver hair on the right quest counter.

The inventory expansion was one of the first things I did, and I also am perpetually using the Premium Set - grants full MyRoom and MyShop access, access to the premium storage (which can carry up to 300 items), expands the number of client orders you can take at once up to 40, etc. The easiest method of obtaining AC outside of Japan at the moment is through PSO2es on an Android device (PSO2es on iOS charges a separate fund, known as iAC, which cannot be used outside of iOS at all).

Incorrect. I guess they changed it at some point but you can now use iAC in PSO2. It's how I got my Dewman an inventory upgrade.

Inventory, first. It's the the biggest quality of life you'll get. Scratches are a total gamble. You could hit big, or could hit nothing great, but maybe recycle the trash into something else. Only do it if you're okay with the absolute worst result and consider anything better.

Premium sub can be a very nice thing depending on how geared / ungeared you are. My room access for whatever, the 3 extra crafting slots, the ability to trade in 10/11 star weapons was huge for me and the reason I was able to gear up as quickly as I did. Plus it's a lot easier to make money using my shop. I also liked getting into full blocks with the premium space.

New Mags are also a good buy if you play multiple classes or messed yours up.

Definitely get the inventory upgrade first. If you do find yourself wanting to try your luck at the costume scratch then maybe try your luck with FUN scratches for the my shop pass, or buy one, or go premium. Everything you can get from a scratch can be sold on my shop so you can try and just buy whatever costume you want.

Actually got the game running finally and installed the English patch. The Sega ID part was the hardest but finally after a few tries over the years I'm in! Are people still playing atm and is everyone still on ship 2? Obviously this will just be a guilty pleasure, I was jw in case I run into any trouble solo.

Thanks for the replies. I'll be looking into that in the future.

So, I made an Japanese Apple ID and set up PSOes on my iPhone. Where do you go from there to buy iAC? Do you need to buy Japan iTunes credit somewhere? Don't think I can use my credit card without setting some flags.

It's been a while since I've done it but you will need an iTunes card. I got mine from play-Asia who'll email you your code and I think the scanny thing so you can feel like you're from the future. I don't quite remember the process when you're on es though sadly.

Play-Asia and the other places that sell codes all have crazy markup. You might want to try sending a PM to colinp, he has picked up codes for me in the past for a much more reasonable price.

So I figure more people will watch me streaming PSO2 if I actually announce that I'm streaming it (I even wrote an announcement post last time but forgot to hit the Submit button on it, oops). So, yeah, tune in to http://www.hitbox.tv/starcreator if you want to watch me being ultra rusty. I'm upping the bitrate from last time, so let me know if you have any issues watching.

Starting with some time attack, not sure if anything else will happen during/after.

EDIT: Oops, capture setup was broken so it was unintentionally an audio-only stream .-. Nothing going on that justifies streaming now, but I might try again in a couple hours for the scheduled EM if I'm still awake.

EDIT: Okay, trying again, for at least half an hour or so.

So what should actually be translated into English? Here's my current screen...Which looks like a bunch of jibberish still. :|

Strange...I did all the tweaker stuff. What am I doing wrong?
Probably have to click in the orb in the top left of the screen in the tweaker, Install/Update patches option, and then install the english patch, english large files, and english story patch.

I don't use the tweaker myself, so unfortunately I can't help more than that, I apply the patches manually from here (doesn't include story translation):

Huh...Started working when I booted back up again just now. Maybe I needed to run as admin?

Mag stats on a Ra/Br build? I can't find much out there on "ideal" mags.

Most likely pure R-ATK.

Yup, pure one stat. S,R,T-atk depending on what class you want. Dex is pointless and defense can be made up for in a thousand different ways. Even Te with it's wand shenanigans only really needs one of the two (S or T).
Just cycle feeding the mag R-atk weapons to raise the attack and 5 star furniture or dimates to lower the dex stat when it gets near a level.

More damage, more better.

Dex isn't needed for endgame equipment?

No. All dex does is reduce damage variance, which doesn't matter because damage variance is a complete non issue. A couple of weapons use dex to equip but there are always better alternatives that use the attack stat to equip. For the most part the few endgame dex weapons don't have equip reqs so high that you need to put points into your mag's dex. In fact some of the (current) end game weapons can't be equipped unless you put a large amount of points into the attack stat.

Alright cool, thanks. I'll start feeding my mag then!

Hit level 21. *woo* I remember why I quit playing last time...Slow XP gains, haha. At least it's fun!

I was pretty sure the level curve was compressed so that getting to lv50 or so is fairly trivial. Just make sure you are fighting enemies within 5 or so levels of you.

Also, while my team isn't accepting new members, you can always toss me a friend request (player name StarCreator).
