Pitch your perfect game.

Let's say youre a developer at a new game studio, and you've been given a generous budget to make your own game.

Would you make something licenced, or something totally unique? What game would you make?

I'll start off. I'd probably make some sort of open world Jurassic Park game, based on the first movie, with the entire island/park accurately recreated to explore and survive.

Harry Potter x Persona

Basically a Persona game but instead of some japanese high school you are in motherfucking Hogwarts. I want a visual novel HP game but also some cool ass dungeons to do magic and shit. I want to be able to pick characters to spend time with and create bonds with.

a skate game that focuses on actual skating, (not parkour, rollerblading, scooters, hanging out with friends etc) the difficulty of real skateboarding and actual realistic tricks and physics (aka not skate 4 the "hanging out with friends" simulator)

There's some skateboarding games on PC/Switch (not sure about PS/Xbox). "Session" I think is the most popular... i tried it but it was buggy as hell. It was quite difficult to do tricks. Even an Ollie you gotta flick your sticks just right to pull it off. Good difficulty there but i was getting stuck in shit all the time I refunded it lol. That was a while back I don't know how it is today.

Cop game, storywise Max Payne 1&2 and Kane & Lynch tone, so blurred line between good guy and sort of bad apple, one brother getting shot on duty second naturally gifted but until that moment lazy player character brother (or sister or whatever) steps in to find the responsible person and solving crime left and right, optionally shooting some bosses but usually arresting people, on his path to revenge, the only mandatory kill of the game. Max Payne x Kane&Lynch x Deus Ex x Mafia x Sherlock Holmes x LA Noire -> SP or Squad Coop, RPG, Action, QTE-adventure.

I bought a sex doll, but I keep it inflated 100% of the time and use it like a regular wife
Dragon's Dogma but the game is actually finished.

Also, a CRPG kinda game but with a combat system and job system of a JRPG would be awesome for me, too. Like a mix of Fallout/Baldur's Gate but with the gameplay of FF V.

A Crazy Taxi reboot set in the year 2300. All of the camp, all of the music, all of the brands but this time the gameplay is like the taxi scene from the fifth element. Push yourself to attain the highest score and most exclusive license in the most batshit insane 3D taxi sim ever made.

A Gundam game about being a grunt in the one year war and not some super special forces unit with access to specialist suits from the get go...

Be part of a Squad, slowly outlive your squad mates and become the Squad Commander, select the loadout of the mass produced suits in the Gundam universe as your 4 man team goes from battlefield to battlefield with the odds increasingly stacked against them.

Would play like a standard FPS, except weapons would disable parts before getting a kill, you need to heavy damage or destroy the cockpit before a mobile suit goes down, full four direction space combat would be available on some missions.

Also your part of the Zeon forces because facing harder and harder enemies makes sense as the Earth Federation gains the upper hand as the war goes on.

And I just like the Zaku II.

I am Become Bilbo Baggins
Imagine Mount and Blade 2, but set in Medieval Europe between the 14th and 15th centuries. Now mix in Crusader Kings and Total War and you're on the right track.

You start off as a Lord for one of the many nations of Europe of the time. You need to raise armies when required and fight for your monarch and also run your land, but with enough power you can make a grab for the throne. You can then run your kingdom and conquer other nations, although they'll be a range of victory conditions.

Like Mount and Blade and CK, they'll be deep RPG elements. If your character dies then you play as whoever next in line is. There will also be deep diplomatic options, so war could be the last resort.

The map would be the exact same size as Europe, so just over 10 million kilometres sq, and you can explore every part of it. Every major city, town known village and natural site will be present. All cities will be exact recreations of how they looked in that period. If you wanted to ride from North England to Southern Italy then it would take you months in real time. Fast travel would be an option, but your character would age appropriately.

In fact, every you do in the game would take real time. Eating would take time like in real life. Drinking and hosting feasts would take hours. Sex would take as long as your character could keep it up. Your character ages in real time. Children grow up in real time. Pregnancy will take a real world 9 months.

Battles would be huge. Up to tens of thousands of NPCs mixing it up on the field of battle, and like real life they could take hours to resolve.

Basically, a game that you could be playing for decades.

Tell me this isn't the greatest idea of all time.

I posted this a while ago.. a hypothetical trailer reveal of my G-Police remake dream game.

Sony Entertainment Europe Presents.. (The new Psygnosis logo is revealed).. in collaboration with.. Bluepoint Games... A Blade Runner-esque city at night is revealed, thousands of neon-lit buildings can be seen with hundreds of flying vehicles everywhere.. rain is pouring, every single drop is rendered individually, all running at a completely locked 60fps.

The draw distance is jaw-dropping , every single light source ray traced.. you can see ground vehicles and npcs from thousands feet in the air. The camera drops to ground level, ray traced reflections on puddles everywhere. Almost photorealistic. The camera zooms in inside a japan-town alleyway. You see an uniformed man eating ramen on the street corner, under the rain..every noodle also rendered individually . You can see a small blue shaded G letter on the side of the helmet. A distress call projects on the helmet glass, you can see the water droplets dripping down realistically.. “ We have a situation in alpha cuadrant”.. “ Copy, I,m on my way”..... fade to black.

“ Nov 27 2022”

“ PSVR 2 exclusive”

We ain't outta here in ten minutes, we won't need no rocket to fly through space
You give the WoW licence to Riot and they make WoW 2 instead of their MMO.

Shinobi based Metroidvania. Joe is captured and his abilities hypnotically sealed by Zeed. He escapes and it's time to rescue the kids and rediscover his ninpo abilities. Fighting with weapons ranging from traditional swords and clubs to powerful submachine guns with limited ammo.
Towards the end of the game the player opens a shadow realm version of the map with harder bio-monstrosity & Yokai enemies + new bosses.

Think Symphony of the Night with Ninjas and an art direction similar to Arc System Work's output.

They were going to make a video game based on the movie Tremors in the 2000's but I believe it was cancelled. I'm thinking on a bigger scale. I'd go with that idea but make it a cross over of Shadow of the Colossus. Imagine the monsters in tremors we big and they could detect even the rattle of a broken refrigerator, then make them the size of a Colossus and put that into different desert or Yellowstone type maps. Just a crazy idea.

- A game where the Knights of the Round Table are a sacred order created in the Middle Ages to fight the spread of werewolves, vampires and similar aberrations.

- Uncharted game set in the Golden Age of Piracy.

- Uncharted game were Lara Croft is introduced at the antagonist (early on at least).

- An MMO where the story is shaped by the players, with unique extremely powerful items capable of being held/stolen by each faction.

That first one sounds like The Order 1886 sort of

skater XL is my go to these days for a skate sim. i played session but the animations, notably the landing animations, are very stiff, almost as if the skater can only bend his knees 10 degrees or something. kind of like the EA skate animations where the skater will stand up straight right away after landing and it looks super awkward.

i figured eventually session would fix their animations but for some reason it just never happened despite all the "updates". skaterXL is horrible too but on PC there's mods to fix just about every aspect of the physics to make it look pretty convincing.

session also has stats but they never fixed the anomations. just rolling off a curb looks super weird. there's also some weird lag/delay thing going on where it feels like you input the controls and then see the skater do it on screen, it doesn't feel like actual skating like skater XL does, more like you're controlling a robot that responds to your commands.

I have a game I pitched to a badboy ent rep and dj. They were so excited about it that they clashed and it pretty much ended the talks.

It evolves a nice amount of user interaction outside the game that sold them on it. The reason why I went with an a&r and dj was because I knew if it reached puff it was a done deal. I should have left it with just the a&r. It would have happened.
