IMO sony fumbled the ball, and the overall response seems to be lukewarm at best case.

The actual reveal was....like low effort sony who just assumes their customers will buy whatever they want to put out (apple mentality).

The fact that they announced a USD $700 console...realistically $780 console, with little flair, last gen games being shown, and a little bit of "trust me bro" thrown in there made me go from excited to ehhhhhh pass.

It's not a money thing for me. I have money. I have lots of money. But I chose as a consumer what I want to spend my hard earned money on. Sony taxing the hell out of it and expecting everyone to eat it up? I don't think it will go as planned this time.

Maybe they will have a more proper showing at the upcoming SoP...but as of now my pro plans are on hold.

It has now 249k dislikes, myself included.
Saying all that im still undecided if im gonna bite, i would bite for sure if it was 600€ with discdrive, but atm its 920€ with discdrive(dont care about stand).
Basically gave dislike coz presentation wasnt good enough compared to the euro price they demanding, it all can change if sony 1st/2nd/3rd party show me how much value it brings, im open and i will be convinced then, same way in a year or two if we get some disc drive or gta6 bundles at more reasonable price.

TLDR: Many ppl like myself even tho gave dislike to the reveal yt vid can still be ps5pr0 buyers in the distant or not so distant future.

Maybe everyone starts their comment with that so we can time this decline out.

Anyways, once upon a time I wouldn’t have batted an eye at spending that. My wife and I are DINKs (that changes next month!) and we make decent money, things like this would have been an instant buy. Now that I’m about to be a dad….somethings changed- I suddenly can’t really justify to spend something like that now. I have other things I’m now considering priority. I’d assume that would apply to a lot of people too. Maybe this’ll be an issue and maybe not. Im sure people will still buy this up. Or scalpers.

I think the first batch will sell out instantly. Dont get fooled by dislikes of people who never wanted to buy it anyways or even could at 400$(kids).

Sony is popular has zero competition. A lot of ppl have money in the west. Nvidia proved this time and time again.

People buy asus strix cards that are 800€ more expensive for the same chip because its asus lol.
