Although I wish there weren't timed releases on demos like this, I like that I can pick and choose individual months at $2.99 versus commiting to a whole year. Even if you do end up getting all twelve individually it's still only $11 more than a year subscription would cost.

Also the fact Sony only gets one chance a month to dangle a demo or beta in front of people willing to pay is nice (versus the whole XB Live Gold thing where it's ever-present). That said, I'm excited enough for that Naruto demo to try out an issue of Qore after work today.
