OTHER RESOURCES:
-NeoGAF Official PS3 Custom Theme Thread (Lots of cool stuff, Send your thanks to m0dus and the other contributors)
-The link to access the PS Store for the PSP.

JAPAN STORE HELP:
-Help on creating a Japan Store account. Alternate guide here.
-Some people's credit cards DO work on foreign stores with an incorrect address.
-Currency exchange fees (usually a standard and relatively small amount) may be applicable to your credit card. Check with your CC agreement for details.
-NCSX importers email you the code and don't charge shipping. When ordering, the freight charges that show initially will only disappear shortly before you get to the final checkout page. NCSX also currently appears to be out of stock of 3000 yen cards.
-Playasia DOES charge for shipping and you have to wait a few days to get your card. However, they have more options for the denominations.
-Buy a Japanese PSN card HERE or HERE or HERE or HERE or HERE or HERE or HERE or HERE.

ADDITIONAL NOTES:
-I underlined things that people might want to know that might negatively affect a PSN game purchasing decision.
-There is lots of DLC that is too numerous to catalogue. All I can say is click the "View All" tab inside the Store and find the game that you want to check for DLC.
-The entirety of the Japanese PS1 list is copied from a resource I've used for a long long time. I don't even remember how I found it but it's on a European forum. My thanks go out to a user by the name of junkiexxl for compiling and translating the Japanese PS1 list.

-To the best of my knowledge, these descriptions are accurate. Let me know if anything is incorrect (player counts and voice chat in particular). I need help on some prices since I own some of this stuff, can't check the prices myself and can't remember what I bought them for (Super Rubadub, Blast Factor).

This is my contribution to society. Merry Xmas!

WHERE IS IT?! :(

I don't know if there is one. I didn't give chubigans much lead time when I told him what I was working on.

BTW, PSP remote play was a godsend in getting this list put together. :D Battery is dead now. Need to go charge it.

But great thread tanod, as always. And thanks for all the work you guys do in the weekly PSN threads, I for one really appreciate never having to look up anything about releases or what's coming up on my own since it's all done for us every week. :D

You posted this from remote play? Wow.

But yes, great thread!

Great thread, I was surprised to see how many original games hit PSN this past year. I think the next price drop could put a PS3 in my range.

I didn't post from remote play. I was on my computer and had my PSP sitting next to me scouring the product descriptions and lists on the PS Store.

great job.

Hmmmm I'd say that considering the PS3 has been out now for a lil over 13months, thats a pretty decent amount of things on PSN, and thats just the NA store.

Looking forward to year 2.

Suckin' dicks since '66
Yeah I would say its decent as well they just need to add more games Like Ps1 games. There are a few I am dying to re-buy aside form that I just wish they put out stuff whens it's ready instead of the the whole Thursday thing but there is room to improve.

Awesome.

It's great to look at how many demos we did end up getting. Thr draught wasn't very fun though :( Thank god we have games to play now instead of waiting on demos :lol

Tanod, thanks for the PSN update threads!

I've been pretty happy with the PSN store updates. I love all the free content (trailers, themes, wallpapers, demos) and those original PSN games.

Keep it up Sony.

The drought kinda sucked, but when I look back on it, the demo drought came during the late spring/summer months where there weren't really any games coming out anyway.

Regardless, its nice to see the PSN catch up with Live in terms of content. 08 is gonna be a great year for those who own both consoles.

Excellent list Tanod. Sorry I didnt get our ol' mascots any banner time this week...perhaps next week will be different. :D

Gotta chime in with a +1 on the nice thread. ;)
I didn't even know some of those PSN games had demos.. Is this info relevant for NA region or all regions combined?

Not many PS1 games have aged well. I think I only still like playing 9 of the dozens I used to play when I was a kid.

Primarily relevant to the United States. If you don't live in the US, you can always make a US account. The combination of my PSP battery dieing and it being really late last night when I finally got this post finished told me that I'll have to leave any European additions for another day, if at all.

Generally though, the EU has less PSN games but has a demo or two that we don't have in the US. A Cain and Linch demo is only available in Europe AFAIK.

Nope. It was announced on the blog last week.

Looking through the list, that's one of the things that surprised me too. The other thing I noticed is how many games and retail demos there actually are and how few PSN demos there are.

Everyday fucking Shooter...

...still waiting every day for it.

Sony ruined 2007...

...Sony Santa does not exist :(

tanod you are a great man

Overall I'll give PSN a thumbs down for 2007. Sporadic releases of worthwhile content (Warhawk Omega Dawn, Super Stardust HD), surrounded by a lot of shit. Proving the whole 90% of everything is shit.

What we've seen of PSN is a drop in the bucket of the potential the distribution model has, and hopefully Sony gets it shit together in 2008 to make PSN an attractive incentive for gamers (more original / exclusive content, integration of PSN games with PSP) and consumers (HD movies, more movie trailers, TV show downloads, music downloads) to purchase a PS3 as a gaming / media hub.

tanod

OK

OP updated with some additional demos that are only on the foreign stores. Couple other minor changes/corrections.

Oh, also, I lovvvvvvvvvvved my PSOne and many of the games mentioned, but I can tell you that MANY of these games haven't aged well

2Extreme
Cool Boarders
Destruction Derby
Jet Moto
MediEvil
Rally Cross
Spyro the Dragon
War Hawk
Wipe Out

Your nostalgia would pretty much have to be extremely strong for all of those.

There definitely needs to be more RPG's and 2d games in general because they tend to age better, save for the loading times in some of the RPG's (Persona anyone??)

Nice thread Tanod

I was looking for the Shivering Aisles this morning but I couldn't find it. I looked under "O" and under "S" to see if it was buried under there somewhere. Is it still on the psn?

Outstanding post!

For those of you playing PS1 games on the PSP: Which ones do you feel have held up well over time, and translate well to the PSP control scheme? So far, I have only purchased Twisted Metal 2 (works...OK, still miss the two L/R buttons) and Hot Shots Golf 2 (works terrific on PSP and is a holdover until HSG:OT2 hits the U.S.). Are there any others to consider?
