It appears that Playstation Store has just leaked the next part in the Far Cry series, Far Cry 6. As we’ve already reported, Far Cry 6 will feature Breaking Bad’s Giancarlo Esposito. And, according to the store, the game will come out on February 18th, 2021.

Far Cry 6 will take place in tropical island called Yara.

“Welcome to Yala, a tropical paradise whose time has been frozen. Yarra’s dictator Anton, Castile, intends to let his son Diago follow his bloody flow and restore the country’s former glory at all costs. Their relentless oppression has ignited the fire of revolution.”

Players will assume the role of Dani Rojas; a local Yaran who will become a guerrilla fighter in order to liberate the nation.

Far Cry 6 promises to have the largest Far Cry playground to date. According to the listing, the game will have jungles, beaches and the capital city of Yara.

Far Cry 6 will release on both current-gen and next-gen platforms. However, we don’t know yet whether the next-gen console versions will feature significantly improved graphics. The game will also have both offline and online modes. Oh, and in case you were wondering, it will also have micro-transactions.

Ubisoft will officially reveal Far Cry 6 during its upcoming Ubisoft Forward 2020 event this Sunday.

Stay tuned for more!

Didn’t Far Cry 2 have one?

Is Far Cry 3 plot about defeat a tyrant? If you're talking about take down camps, getting weapons and exploring the world, thats the Far Cry premisse.
All 3 games involve a tyrant of some kind, yes. They follow very similar plot structures, introduce the bad guy in the beginning and propose a problem. Like I said, slight similarities, not copy and paste. The other games don't involve a cult or an ancient human tribe or a tropical island.

But you're talking about the game mission, just like 'the knight go to the castle and save the princess'. Its not so obvious for those who are playing. As much Far Cry premisse is about 'defeating a tyrant', they're not usally a tyrant by any means.
Far Cry 3 is about mercenaries/piraty and Far Cry 5 about a cult leader, IF we are still talking about plot. This looks very similar to Far Cry 4 tyrant over the resistence.

Not sure. I started with Far Cry 3 and played Blood Dragon, Far Cry 4 and Primal. All have a voiced protagonist. Far Cry 5 and New Dawn were silent protagonists. It completely kills the story and immersion.

If you've played fc3 you've played every far cry game after.
Ubisoft is really cookie cutter with it's IPs.
