Join Joey on a wild adventure with her new troll friends as she looks for a way home and ends up saving the world in the process.

Love You to Bits
Follow the crazy journey of a tiny human explorer whose robot girlfriend has been torn into bits. Her pieces are scattered in dozens of planets full of fantastic aliens, space-time puzzles and objects to collect.

Adventures of Frederik Ceppo
Frederik Ceppo is an “ordinary” man from Finland who lives an extraordinary life in the town of Likajoki, Finland (In English, the town of Filth River)! When things start to go sour he is the only man who can save the future of the citizens of his town; even though he lives in a dumpster-like environment, gets his pizza from homeless people and has to drink his beer in the back room of the bar. Why? Find out for yourself and save the town!

The A.B.C. Murders
Hercule Poirot receives typed letters signed by A.B.C., giving the date and location of the next murder. The killer is working their way through the alphabet, leaving an ABC railroad guide with each victim. Why would A.B.C. write to Poirot instead of the Scotland Yard or any reputable newspaper? With Britain panicking, the fate of the nation is now in your hands!

Tales of Cosmos
Perseus the Dog and Professor Gagayev are astronauts who recently crash-landed on an unknown planet. All they have to rely on is their environment and their own resourcefulness. Help them get to the bottom of their newfound predicament, and through their exploits you will explore space, discover new planets, recruit the help of local lifeforms, and unravel a cosmic mystery.

Jason The Greek
Once upon a time in faraway Ancient Greece lived a man, a near Demi-God, who went by the name… of Jason. Denied his kingdom by the mad King Pelias, he and his mighty crew will sail the seven seas in search of the Golden Fleece. This is the first chapter of a series of point-and-click adventures based on the mythical adventures of Jason and The Argonauts in their quest to find the Golden Fleece.

Bureau
Agent Kendall joined the FBI to improve her skills in computer security. She was going to serve her time and then go back to the private sector and make a killing as a high priced computer security consultant. The Bureau had other plans. She was re-assigned to a special unit that deals with odd cases often involving homicide. Agent Kendall’s life will never be the same.

Oxenfree
A stylish 2.5D adventure game from ex-Telltale and Disney devs about a group of teenagers who happen upon the supernatural while partying on a deserted island. The premise sounds rather twee, but with no dedicated cutscenes and a neat Telltale-inspired chat interface – where engaging in conversation at all is apparently optional – Oxenfree sounds interesting.

Twelve Minutes
In a shorter, punchier interpretation of Groundhog Day, 12 Minutes is a top-down real-time adventure game where you influence events inside, yup, 12 minute timeframes. The whole thing takes place in a three-roomed apartment whereby a series of compromising scenarios force snap decisions before the loop starts over. At prototype stage, John praised it for being “incredibly adaptable”

Game of Thrones: A Telltale Games Series – Season Two
Given that Season One ended with a number of cliffhangers and unanswered questions, it seems Telltale might’ve had plans for a second season tucked up their choice ‘em up sleeves the entire time. Shortly after the first finished, Game Of Thrones Season Two was confirmed.

Starr Mazer
Starr Mazer is an upcoming PNC + SHMUP game by Imagos Softworks and TOO DX.

This is fantastic and I'm excited to not just lurk

Currently achievement farming the Blackwell games (played the first few before they were added) and I can't believe how well it all holds up still. I'm glad Dave Gilbert is giving other developers a great push through his publishing but I think he's one of the great writing talents for point and clicks. Hopefully Shardlight continues that streak.

edit - and if even 10 of these games come out next year I'll be fucking happy.

Oh, huh, Downfall's getting remade? Been meaning to play that and Cat Lady for years now. Me putting things off keeps getting validated by remakes, I guess.

And I'm always wanting to play more P&C games so hopefully I'll be more active here this year; great job with the OP!

What Should I play first: Deponia Trilogy or The Book of Unwritten tales 1-2 ? I heard Unwritten tales is supposed to be a trilogy so I wonder if it's more like a stand alone games ?

I count Danganronpa and Zero Escape as point-as-clicks as well, and since new installments of those series are also scheduled for 2016, it looks to be a good year indeed.

For me:

Must haves
The Witness
Firewatch
Thimbleweed Park
Day of the Tentacle: Special Edition

Will have a look at
Kentucky Route Zero Act V
King's Quest
Obduction
Syberia III

Don't really think they will be good, I already own/backed them so...
Dreamfall Chapters - Book 5
Duke Grabowski

I can't hold all these points, all these clicks. Looks like 2016 will be a great year. Bought a handful of PnCs during the Steam sale; I haven't played much of the genre but do like what I've played so far.

Thimbleweed Park is the big thing I'm looking forward to this year. Ron getting Mark Ferrari on BG duty has really helped capture the P&C heyday vibe. Just hope the puzzles and writing live up to the aesthetics.

A Night at Camp Ravenwood

Awesome, that's the most MI2 thing I've seen since MI2. Loving the MI1 close-up art.

Looking at the history, the dev has been working on this for quite a long time. Has 2016 been announced as a solid release date goal?

Nice thread :)

A tidbit of Unavowed.

- Wadjet Eye Games' post-Shardlight project.
- Written by Dave Gilbert (The Shivah, The Blackwell series...).
- Urban fantasy in the vein of Dresden/Hellblazer/World of Darkness.
- 640x360 resolution.

Woah! That looks gorgeous, and I love urban fantasy. This is at that top of my most anticipated list now.

Edit: And Jennifer Hepler is helping with it too - nice!

January 28th release on chapter one of The Slaughter announced at AdventureX. Found it through his Kickstarter. A PnC I've had my eyes on a lot last year. Sucks he had to give into the episodic format but you gotta do what you gotta do. Regardless it is shaping up nicely!

By the way thanks for the new thread, it looks gorgeous!

Great work, didn't realise there was still so much great stuff on the horizon. Keep the point and clicks flowing!

mattiewheels

And then the LORD David Bowie saith to his Son, Jonny Depp: 'Go, and spread my image amongst the cosmos. For every living thing is in anguish and only the LIGHT shall give them reprieve.'
That's an awesome list, though I hope the traditional look of all those games is met with a lot of experimentation in the genre. We need some new blood to go with the tried and true lately.

I really should make 2016 the year I sit my ass down and actually do something with Adventure Game Studio other than make tech demos I never release.

Hyped for Thimbleweed Park, probably the best Kickstarter I've ever backed. Reading the Dev Blog and listening to the podcast is so great -- only downside is, I feel like I've seen at least half of the game already.

Also really looking forward to the new Sherlock, if they can at least remain the production values of Crime & Punishment (not so sure about that), and Firewatch & Tacoma, of course, if those count as point & click. Oh, Unavowed, too.

Notwithstanding all that is coming out next year, I have such a huge backlog of adventures to play...2016 will be fun!

Awesome thread, a pat on the back for the hard work!

(Good) point-and-click games are synonymous with (good) pixel art for me (*coughs* Sierra fangirl *coughs*), so I naturally gravitate towards those. Wadjet Eye is doing a good job as far as I can tell!

How has Dreamfall Chapters been so far? I'm waiting for all episodes to come out before I play it.

I bought on GOG, but was so turned off by the first chapter that I haven't played the others yet. :

Presentation is nice, but thats about it. Very slow, with some kind of weird "like Telltale but not quite" gameplay.

My top five that I'm most looking forward to:

Day of the Tentacle Remastered
Thimbleweed Park
Samorost 3 (assuming it actually releases in 2016)
Syberia III (same as above)
The rest of the King's Quest chapters.

I feel a bit bad about having a remaster be my most anticipated but the original is just that good. Can't help it.

Don't feel bad, it's one of the best games ever made.

I feel that a lot of developers of point&click adventures would benefit from really study all the aspects that made it so good. Scene structure, pacing, puzzles, style, etc.

been so pumped for The Witness, I plumb forgot about the embarrassment of riches that are yet to come.

man, 2016 is gonna be off the hook great.

Wow for one that loved the old school point and clickers like all lucas art games. Seem to be coming so much. Have not played alot since the old days. What did i miss, what should i get? My fav was monkey island.. Thanks

These Syberia games, what exactly are they about? all i know is some shit about a toy factor and a lawyer. What's the hook? is it a mystery? what?

From the list I would anticipate the following as being very good:

Thimbleweed Park - Ron Gilbert, David Fox, Gary Winnick & Mark Ferrari reunite to make a classic P&C game.
Shardlight
Disavowed

From the past few years:

Ben There, Dan That / Time Gentleman Please - funniest P&C games since lucasarts golden age
Blackwell 1 - 4
Blackwell 5
Primordia
Technobabylon
Dropsy
Shadowgate - quite different to the other games on my list so may not be your thing - remake of a classic first person point & click where death lurks behind every ill advised "use x with x" experiment

Then games which I had quite a bit of fun with but had some small flaws:

Book of Unwritten Tales - incredible game up till the endind where it falls apart (possibly ran out of money?) Has a sequel & prequel I haven't had the time to play yet.
Resonance - Another game that is fantastic till the rushed ending. Loved the innovative system which saw inventory pretty much replaced with memory
Gemini Rue - combat was a bit odd, had a couple of annoying bugs (probably patched out by now though). Excellent story.

I should be clear that the only ones that go all in on humour are the ben and dan games and the unwritten tales games, though most of the others have some dark humour.

Seconding this list. I've never played BOUT or Shadowgate though. I would add The Journey Down to the list as well.

Great and outstanding OP!

There are so many adventure games, and most of them look so interesting as well. I'm looking forward to find out about each of them in greater details.

From the past few years:

Broken Age:
Gemini Rue
Gray Matter - More like Sierra then LucasArts, but one of the better such games.
Machinarium
Sam & Max: The Devil's Playhouse
Tales from the Borderlands - Not much gameplay, but a very good interactive novel.
Tales of Monkey Island - Not as good as 1&2, but definitely better then Escape.
