Pokemon: Honedge's Evolution Revealed

Tyrantrum is a goddamn T-rex with a beard. It could resemble any JRPG monster, I don't see how it has anything to do with Digimon.

Sort of the illegitiate offspring of Shoutmon and Growlmon.

I like Honedge better. The pink on Doublade kills it for me. It's my least favorite color. Should have kept the blue or made it purple. That's just my opinion though.

Edit - The design itself is tits though. Just don't like the color.

Double Edit - I just noticed the purple. Pink still ruins it:(

Prepare to grind for that shiny then

Why? Because they're red dinosaurs with spikes?

With white hair and a sort of segmented, robotic look, yes. I'm not saying Gamefreak ripped off Digimon for the Tyrantrum design, I'm just saying you'd have to be blind to not see the similarities. Keep in mind that this argument is based around the statement "Pokemon shouldn't look like Digimon", which I disagree with because there are quite a few cool-looking Pokemon who could pass for Digimon.

Oh right - it wouldn't have the shield (with its apparent coat-of-arms inspiration) very prominent in it's design - it has the ability No Guard.

Obviously it's supposedly to look like an Ice Cream cone. It is however, an icicle with snow on top of it. It's a cute design that personally is one of my favorite Gen 5 Pokemon.

I can't hate the Vanill line. It's literally Slime from Dragon Quest.

Oh yeah, don't get me wrong. The Vanillite line is one of my favourites of Gen 5.

...And yes, I do love Slime.

But it's above his eye.
Not everything has gotta be anthromorphic!

Hahaha
Jeeze. I guess I shouldn't be surprised after the amount of people that were bending over backwards to defend the ice cream and gear pokemon. GameFreak's got it figured out, wait long enough between games and people will feverishly defend anything.
....................Um...

I love these guys, but man... Bastiodon confused the heck out of me for a long while. I kept thinking that those four symbols above the spike were it's eyes, and that that spike was a mustache. It looked extremely weird with that giant nose and all.

Just cover up it's eyes to see what I mean.
I had the exact same problem with Cradily.

I'll admit I'm a cranky old man when it comes to Pokemon. I never cared for the more abstract designs, I like them to just look like extraordinary animals. I don't even like that Blastoise has freaking cannons coming out of his shell let alone shit like Mr. Mime or Magneton. Most Pokemon are good, a few are great, and a few more are completely terrible. But hey when you're in the range of some 700+ pokemon you're going to have some duds.

If they brought the shield to the front it would've looked more obvious and distinct:

That's not supposed to be a shield. More like the "hanger" or plaque. I hope it has another evolution though, much like Gastly -> Haunter -> Gengar and Litwik -> Lampent -> Chandelure.

The designs ok for what it is. I saw the red and blue Pokemon 3ds xls at target. I didn't know they were out already. I wonder if they will produce a lot

"Why'd you buy me a 2DS mom, now I can't play Pokemon!"

Thought this was kind of relevant since we're talking about Pokemon.

People dual wielding swords in no way makes 2 floating swords combining together make anymore sense to me. Dugtrio and magneton make more sense to me and i prefer their simple designs, there is nothing more to it.

I don't particularly like the idea of a sword pokemon in general not just how they handled the evolution. I also happen find both designs ugly. If others disagree fine, i don't think my opinion is the correct one necessarily.
dude Its two swords, like three magnemites, they simply make the same sense as any other "add one more" Pokemon, nothing more, nothing less.

I think it's more "Stop whining about designs getting worse than G1, G1 did it too." You can not like a design; I think Braixen and vivillion have unappealing designs. It's just obnoxious seeing the same stupid "Pokemon was better when I was a kid" behavior with every single newly revealed one. And it's always disguised by these silly, arbitrary reasons like "too many inanimate objects" or "too colorful" or "not colorful enough".

G1 is actually my second favorite generation.

In my case, I expect better. To me "Two or three Pokemon in one" was always sign of a uninteristing design so I hoped they were aware of that and just not embraced just because "G1 did it"

I should mention that I actually like many of the new designs and that I bought White 2 and was surprised by many improvements. So I'm not much of the camp "G1 was the only one good" but more in "Why people assume that I 'm saying that 1 was better?".

Nah, there are people with a mindset like that. I don't mind it at all if people form opinions like you!
