POKEMANIA CAN'T BE STOPPED

Red and Blue being the trainers. While there is already a Red nendoroid, it's modeled after his FRLG appearance while this one is closer to the art for the original game. They will be in a special bundle for the low, low price of 7500 Yen. Each trainer comes with two face parts, two feet parts, and Blue has six different arm parts while Red only has five. Blue beats out Red yet again. There's also MEW, and you can change around his parts as well. Extra accessories include Pokeballs and a backpack. It's out July 9th, but you can reserve starting on February 27th. It will be available at Japanese Pokemon Centers and Japanese Amazon.

there's a Champion edition of FRLG Red coming as well (starter final evolution instead the basic)

nope. it gotten even easier, amazon.co.jp let's you pay directly for the taxes so you don't even need to go to the zoll anymore.

The thinner and smoother linework suggests Ohmura, but it could be Sugimori. Their styles have really started converging as of late. It's definitely Game Freak sourced though!

Turns out the illustration is by TCG artist and recent Game Freak recruitee Hitoshi Ariga.

We also have confirmation that this is part of a series. It'll be really nice if updated artworks for other past versions of characters are also planned. If Red's Pikachu is any indication, Blue being featured with an Eeveelution would make sense. Umbreon would be perfect even if it didn't appear in Yellow -- as reference to the anime, and in contrast to Red's Espeon.

In other figure news, Steven and Cynthia are getting Perfect Posing Products versions:

Kinda funny that about a year ago Red's Nendoroid was the only Pokémon game character to have a figure outside the TFG. Suddenly, we have 4-5 lines adapting multiple Trainers.

Boy is wearing a damn peach shirt and instead of his undershirt being tucked in its simply waaay to short to the point were we can see his belly button -_- The collar all the fuck up for some reason. Hey boy you left your bag at home. And his pants are so large now they don't require him to lace the big trap on his shoes, just simply cover them completely with his extra leg space.
