Pokemon X broke my Pikachu 3DSXL

The thing never ever had a problem before I played X, but now it's powering itself off for no reason, freezing, and going to a black screen when I close the system.

Quite frankly, it's really pissing me off. I save the game with some frequency, but I shouldn't have to save every five seconds for fear of losing progress.

Help me please. I'm unable to enjoy this game right now because of the problems.

(Also I wasn't sure where to put this so feel free to move it as necessary.)

UPDATE: A system format helped for the time being. Still gonna compulsively save for awhile.

I think my 3DS isn't taking to the firmware. One other game froze on startup, but none of them do it as much as X.

I am under warranty. Worst case scenario I have to send it in, but then I can't play X.

Hopefully that system restore fixes things and you don't have to send it in yet again.

I don't think people actually think that. My logic for picking X was that when I chose Y on the eshop I got an error. X gave me no error, so I bought that one.

All the trolling post aside, please do post your findings on a solution OP. This could have happened to not just you. If anyone encounters the same problem we should all work towards a solution. If this problem is apart of a bigger issue I hope Nintendo's caught wind of it.

You know what X stands for? Xanthinuria. Do you know what Xanthinuria causes? Renal failure. Do you know what that is? It means 'X' basically goes around shitting itself. It also causes weight loss which explains why it looks frail to the point that it would break its own legs by falling down.
