Imagine if they announced VS2 with FFT Advance kiddy characters, story, and art style. That's some rape.

Don't give them ideas... you never know who's listening!

Straight from SE about SO4 comments and the only titles saying that its only planned for Japan is FFXII International so the rest should be coming.

is beloved, despite what anyone might say
We're getting the SO1 and 2 ports as well? This just keeps on getting better and better! Interesting that there are gonna be some new characters and animated movies in the SO2 remake, too, I was kinda expecting a pretty straight, orthodox port. But it looks like SO2 is gonna get the redone portraits treatment as well :(

As long as it has some sort of English (either subtitles or VA), I will import FF12-I. As for the American PR, I'm happy to see Joker on there. That's the only real surprise. However, There are a lot of omissions on that list, like FFTA2 and Ring of Fates for DS. I'm sure both are coming here, but considering it's a PR intended to cover the Fall/Winter/Early 2008 timeframe, I don't think we will see either for a long time.

Game Watch said that FF12i will have English text in an article, but so far it's the only place to say so. Hopefully, it turns out to be true, because the English writing is far superior.

Good thing the DQ games are at least coming, seeing as how SE screwed over the Enix side of the company by not localizing any of the GBA DQ games.

Not surprising about DQM, given Horii's recent comments about it likely to pick up the post-Pokémon crowd in the US.

Shame there's still no word on Front Mission 1st DS :(

I never actually considered DQS wouldn't come out in English, I just assumed it was a given.

Great to hear an actual confirmation though. :)

I figured DQS was a given (and naturally we don't have to worry about FF titles), but DQMJ was looking particularly iffy for a while. That's the really reassuring announcement here.

Truth. Especially with that stunt they pulled with Caravan Hearts.

It's okay, Caravan Hearts was awful anyway. :( DQMJ, on the other hand, is quite good, so I'm glad English speakers will get a chance at it.

I was thinking it was a given, but I don't think DQVIII and especially Rocket Slime did what Sqeenix was hoping. Or, at least not as well as I was hoping.

I'm just always nervous when it comes to Dragon Quest on Nintendo consoles. It feels like we're crumbs compared to Japan. This news was very reassuring.

On Nintendo consoles? It's not like the US got DQIVr, DQVr, Young Yangus, DQM Compilation, or Torneko 3.

The series is spotty on the US regardless of console... so having two more confirmed releases makes me very happy.

You forgot to mention Slime Morimori.

Awful? Yeah it's the worst in the series, but it's still playable! The lack of breeding (monster hearts sort of blew) was the real downer as it sucked away much of the charm and addiction of the previous two, but I would have still being nice if it came outside of Japan.

He's a pretty swell guy in my books anyway.
DQM:J GET! Maybe FFXII:RW as well... we're getting HoM sooner so I'll definitely be getting that. Now announce a date for FF:CC-RoF and that FFTA2 as well as IaWW are coming out in NA. :D

Wait, what? Are we talking spin-offs (like that Slime game--didn't that become Rocket Slime for the DS?) or were some of the earlier entries in the main series remade/re-released on the GBA in Japan?

swords in 2008 seems rather distant. near-term wii rpg landscape is so very barren.

But the near future of RPGs on 360 is oh so sexy. Blue Dragon, Eternal Sonata, Mass Effect, and Lost Odyssey will hold me over until DQIX and DQ: Swords.

Aye, but remember that the 360 has already been out for a year and a half. At this point in time last year all 360 had was that one RPG that got ported to PS3. Wii has had Super Paper Mario and Fire Emblem: GoD so far.

Don't remind me. :(

I know I'll do my part for these games.

Where do you import from? Importers are probably one of the few groups not properly extrapolated by sales services, since most import stores tend to be very poor. So, "your part" might not actually help anyone :(

I just wish Atlus would hurry up and jump on the Wii bandwagon. :|

Atlus has (Trauma Center may well end up being their best-selling title ever). The problem is the ten billion little studios that Atlus USA publishes / localizes for. None of them have announced anything.

SE is releasing media for FF:CC Wii?!

Hm, I think I'm getting a PSP this winter. That way when FFT comes out, I can buy that MGS, and (maybe)VP.

Well, I'm talking more of the "main" games in the series. We did get DQ VII and DQ VIII and we almost got DQIVr.

DQ V and VI didn't come out here on the SNES (along with a few remakes) even though the SNES was very much alive and was a good source of RPGs. I couldn't help but feel a little doubtful for future Dragon Quest releases on the Wii.

So, the series has always been spotty, but the only instance of the main games in the series not coming over here was on a Nintendo console.

You may want to grab a copy of VP soon. It's getting hard to find now.

If they advertise Swords well enough, maybe it'll get some people in the US interested?

Thats probably why its coming out in 2008. Avoid the holiday rush and hit the Q1 low.

I seriously, seriously thought a US version of DQM was as as dead-in-the-water as DQM3 GBA!

To get that, along with all the rest? BRILLIANT!
