Long time since I got this happy about a game, as in, going a bit nuts in real life about it like it used to happen years ago. This is the best crossover ever to me, when I think of everything else I like I realize no other similar fanservice announcement that can top this.

Yes! I'm not too worried because even if it's "more AA" or "more Layton" it will be fine by me but I hope they find a sweet balance.

It was previously explained in the thread.. the Layton games currently out in the US are the first "Trilogy".. the second trilogy (with.. the .. 2nd? game announced? the 3ds one?) take place before that, with a younger Luke, starting off with how they first met. This is that design, which suggests that it takes place before the "present" in Layton's timeline (ie, before Curious Villiage)

As Phoenix isn't a Hobo, we can assume it takes place before the "present" in Ace Attorney as well. (ie, before the flashbacks in Apollo Justice)

That wouldn't make any sense at all. Level 5 would be better off to release a regular Layton worldwide instead of releasing a crossover game, where they certainly have to share profits with Capcom, in Japan only. And yeah, Capcom is certainly not the kind that would neglect the gobal market either.
And why would they even have to "swear" to not release it outside of Japan anyway. Is that supposed to be some Japanese thing about honor and grace? :lol
