Project CARS | OT | Made by 80.000 slightly mad developers

is there any way to get some info on cars like is it RWD or AWD mid-engine or
front-engine? Maybe what kind of weather conditions the class of car can race in as well. I swear between this and forza finding info on your car when you need it is so annoying with both.

Man, am I glad I picked this up. Still need to spend some time to tweak the controls, but this is exactly what I was looking for on the PS4.

HOWEVER, to others on the PS4 out there, have a question for you. When using the DS4 controller, how do you have the controls for shifting set up (assuming manual transmission)? The accelerator / braking on the triggers make sense, but having to shift with the shoulder buttons is just painful. With the default settings, I'm either trying to control acceleration and braking with my middle fingers and shift with the index fingers (which is tough), or trying to accelerate and upshift with my right index finger (breaking and downshifting using index / middle finger is okay), meaning I have to let off the gas to shift up. Thinking of mapping the gears to square and X, but curious what everyone else is doing.

And planning to get a wheel at some point, but in the interim, need some ideas.

Hey guys I have a question about PCars Carrer Mode

I started a career and won my first kart championship but what about now? What do I have to do in order to change vehicle class? Do I have to get a license? I recieved a lot of mails from teams and folks wich want I compete in their events/teams but I don't know what to do with them...

Thank you!

You will get invitations to resign with your team of join other teams in other classes, if you don't have the invites yet then you may have other events to finish to end the season.

This is a huge problem, so many quitters online. I wish there was a rating system.

I believe there is a reputation system which considers disconnects, penalties, and that sort of thing. Curious if there's a way to require a reputation of a certain level or higher to be able to enter races, or restrict those of a lower reputation.

Basically the Forza setup, gear up circle, gear down square.

Are these invitations in the email menu? I think I have some of them but there is no option to resign or join anything... I will check again this evening, thanks for now :D

They don't work like that, once the date arrives, you either race the event, or skip it.

That'll work, thanks for the input.

Also, my 13 month old daughter is a terrible driver. Set her up in a BMW 1 Series at Hockenheim, and she was ricocheting off the walls starting with turn #1. Got a good idea of what type of damage the cars can sustain from watching her though. Pit engineer had her on the radio right up until her engine completely died. 0_o

What car are you lot using for the performance TD events?.

You get a choice from the Ariel Atom, both 300 and Mugen, BAC Mono, Caterham 500, McLaren F1, Audi R8 V10, Mercedes SLS and the RUF RGT-8.

The weakest on paper appears to be the Mugen, but in my testing, it's probably the best, certainly the most consistent one of the bunch...

I chose the RUF for the first one at Brands, and that was a big mistake......

Did my first online race (PC) last night; just jumped into a random session. It was the McLaren P1 at Laguna Seca and boy oh boy is that a fun combination. I wound up getting pole by over 3 seconds but jumped the start on accident (clicked it into gear and let the car roll). Even with doing a drive through, I still won fairly easily. Tail out slides on corner exit are so much fun in that car!

I noticed a couple of the others chatting afterwards saying "that car is so hard to drive" and "the leader was too fast", lol. I would get smoked by many of you GAFers though!

I tried both Atoms and the BAC Mono on Brands Hatch when I did that invitational and the Mugen was the easiest to drive, I had slightly better times with the 300 and the BAC Mono was just shitty to brake but probably would have been the fastest if it was easier to drive for me. Some days later I tweaked it a little and this setup made it a lot easier to kick this thing around the corners. Maybe give it a try (no guarantees though and steering-ratio still needs to be adjust to personal needs).

Wow! In my short time with the game so far, I didn't really feel as if there was a problem, but after trying this, it's like night and day. The controls are so much more responsive. Thank you.

I hate how qualifying just ends abruptly instead of letting you finish your current lap.

It doesn't. I think you're confusing the practice session with qualifying. So long as you cross the start/finish line with the clock still running you can complete your current lap.

After someone's recommendation, I focused on turning down steering sensitivity and tweaking deadzone to my preference. It's much less squirrelly, but the feel changing between a tight and gradual corner still feels...off. It seems fine for one but not the other, depending on my tweaks. I was rubbish on Silverstone GP from the in-car view, but did fine with the bonnet-cam.

As far as I'm aware (Clio Cup), it stops when the time is up, you can't complete the lap you're currently on . . .

I think this game is a better single player game. My MP experience so far has been awful from just about everything you can think of. I miss the Forza style online set up.

When you're in first place or if your current lap is already invalidated it stops, otherwise it lets you finish the lap (...I think ://).

The game allowed me to finish my lap only once and I don't know exactly how it happened. It is unfair, especially since you have to post two qualifying times in Clio Cup (one for race 1 and one for race 2).

It actually does both, and I can figure out why!

Some series the qualifying stops as soon as the clock runs down, others allow you a final lap.

No idea if it's bugged, or by design....

I have experienced that as well. Thought I had till the end of lap and boom, end screen came up. Game usually gets it right, but it has happened a couple times on me.

I know some formulas allow it, but not exactly sure which ones (apart from F1). I would suppose that they have it right in this game, but it's difficult to know what is there by accident, or by design.

I stand by the players online spoil it more then the game itself

For me it's the complete opposite. I'd rather have my chances with the usual couple of idiots online than with the stupid AI in this game. It's beyond horrible, countless races ruined by an AI that doesn't give a fuck.

I hated it at first but I got used to it all or a sudden. It actually feels quite natural to me now.

Pls game. No more Historic Escort/300L races. I feel like the back end is made of solid wood with wheels churning. I really want to tweak the rear diff on it

If I miss posting your time, or manage to screw it up somehow - let me know! It's all too easy to do.

Really nice times from everyone!

@Revson be sure to bring a video with you next time you take P1 :)

Really liked how the '81 BMW M1 Procar handled. First time with it in this Classic GTC event at Spa. That will probably be a car I drive more after I finish this career business.

Had a real shit first lap hitting cones and then swinging out (way)wide later, but cleaned it up a bit on lap 2.

So much glare. Sun set be damned.

edit: Trying to do round 2 of the Historic Touring Car in my Ford Escort, and the AI is just weaving all around wrecking me every time. It's insane.

I've really tried to get into it but I'm just not finding it fun. I've tried various controller settings but the handling still feels twitchy, and I've NEVER had to fiddle so much with controller settings in ANY game, EVER.

I'm certainly not tempted to invest in a wheel set up in the hope the game get's better.

I really need to look at tweaking all the settings. Out of the box, the handling is really touchy. Fun game though.

T3PA pedal owners. Do you use the conical mod? Just received my pedals today but don't know whether to fit the mod or not.
