PS4 sold "more than twice as many" units as Xbox One, new court papers show

Your statements are ridiculous in and of themselves, because we literally don't have anything available for sale other than the Series S.
And even this console, often, I see on some discounts
Anyone can literally buy it, right now, in any online store, or even offline.
The same cannot be said for the Xbox series X and Ps5

You work in the field of trade, and you carry such nonsense, knowing that this is a priori incorrect statistics

Seriously?

Yup, not to mention here in Brazil I often see it diacounted, costing just 1.500 of my local currency (official price is 2.649,00). I've yet to see a PS5 being sold for less than the official 4.500 price.

P2 is still an xbox first party game and one of high quality, which was the point I was making

Infinite was not a failure.
Dont be delusional, psychonauts not only is on PS but also was already made before MS bought them. And infinite is beyond a failure, already barely any players playing it and its not even out for a year. Remember they said its supposed to last for a very long time. If you want to stay delusional then thats up to you but its a fact that infinite is an enormous failure that came and went.

Probably best to have a clue before trying to insult other users.

It seemed like we were gonna, you know build a finish but we would have cut a lot of stuff from the game. Like we started loosing our boss monsters, our boss fights were disappearing because you know they were just laying there and well…. that’s a part of a level may be you can snip-off and may be save some time….
Naturally, with extra resources, Double Fine was able to bring those bosses back and used the “extra months” they got to improve the game. So according to Tim, Psychonauts 2 is a “much better game because of getting involved with Xbox”.

Lol at using player count as the main metric to determine weather a game was a failure or not.
Thats like saying rift apart is a failure because it sold less then 10% of the current ps5 installbase.
Both methods i think dont make much sense, to me a game is successful if it was an enjoyable experience.

Psychonauts 2 is a Microsoft first party game, this a fact. If destiny 3 comes to xbox, its still a playstation first party games.

Infinite was not a failure.

Infinite is the first Halo where I couldn't find a match shortly after launch.

Halo's failure is both complete and absolute. It is apparent on multiple levels and by every metric out there. Suggesting otherwise only exposes and taints any future debate you chose to have here, as it's clear you're not arguing in good faith.

Yeah Xbox One was kinda shit. But hey, Xbox Series consoles are great and now there's real competition again = very good for all of us!

If a free to play live service Halo game is down to less than 10k players in under a year, can't get more than two maps out every six months and literally is still missing basic features, what the fuck is that other than a failure?

So its a failure to all the people who enjoy it, and to all the people who reviewed it well.

That is the most important metric and you ignore it, seems like you're the one arguing in bad faith.

So what about games without MP, are they failures to?

I still enjoy infinites Mp but i mainly play the single player... Which you folks continuingly ignore.

You can say that about almost any game to be honest.
You can, and if it reviews well your opinion has ground.

People are saying halo is a failure based on a few factors without going into much depth.

Infinite could of been better but anyone saying its a failure is full of shit.

"All the people who enjoy it" Being the key phrase here.

Because the game went from over 20 million players to dead servers in a few short months. Here in Europe, connecting to a match is damn near a chore because "All the people who enjoy it" realized the game was poorly executed, lacking content, features, co-op, progression etc etc

Like I said... Any metric you choose to use will deem Halo as a failure. Least of all the various and long-established Halo communities.

I see you cointine to ignore all positive reviews halo got. You gone about "use any metric... Blah blah" but you dont even use review metrics"
Because you know it shows u to be incorrect in your statement that infinite is a failure. It might be a failure to you, but in the general sense it is not.

Depends on what you look at. If you'r really into content post launch then the game might disappoint you. I believe that's the main issue that people are having with the game especially since it was pushed pretty hard where multiplayer is concerned.

Seems like most Halo fans want someone besides 343 handling the franchise. And that's not a bad thing.

But you think a free to play Halo game with 5k players is a success. Wild.

It literally has only 2k more players than Evolve, and that game is dead as a door nail.
Yeah i dont need any other players to play single player.... Lol

No doubt infinite could of been better.
And im not talking about individual opinions here.

Its the general statement "halo infinite is a failure" i think is just trolling and incorrect.

Im gonna continue ushing player count as the only metric for a games success cos infinite only has multiplayer 🤪🤪

Well multiplayer is a big part of the franchise. I guess it’s only a failure if your really into multiplayer. And even then it depends on what you’re looking for in Halo Infinites multiplayer mode.

I can get behind this reasoned non-hyperbolic position. Halo Infinite could certainly use more maps and modes and the detractors will be happy to know those items continue to be worked on.

Sea of Thieves got similar doom and gloom pronouncements and low and behold it's still get support and in a significantly better place than it was at launch. Halo Infinite isn't where it needs to be at the moment but from what I've seen nobody has claimed that it is finished and will receive no more support.

Live service games are tough to maintain and MS clearly needs to get better but the foundation they currently have is an exclusive playing game that needs more content. I'm pretty sure more is coming.

Gaming is a form of entertainment. And by your standard since Halo got good reviews, it is a success.

Unfortunately the entertainment industry disagrees with your discombobulated analysis. By entertainment standards.

  • If a Movie reviews well but nobody visits the cinema/movie theater to watch it. It's a financial flop
  • If a Play Reviews well but nobody visits the theatre to watch it. It's a flop
  • If an Album reviews well but nobody purchases it via retail and/or streaming it's a flop
Halo was supposed to be a 10 year game.

But I couldn't find a damn match a few weeks after having 20 + million players. That game is a flop. Jeff Grubb and Windowscentral reviews not withstanding,

I think the issue is that it’s taking a long time for 343 to release that content. Not that it’s being actively worked on.

I agree its clear the infinite MP is not doing well.

But "failure" is a very strong word, and does not correctly define how successful infinite has been when looking at the entire product.

Im actually not a big halo fan, and infinite is my favourite halo. A failure would be if the MP had constant lag and was sub 30fps, and bad hit detection, other glitches etc but instead infinite is the most smoothest and best feeling fps MP i think i have ever played.

If you believe 343 should continue on the franchise then I’m glad that your happy with what they do. The best Halos that I’ve played were made by the original devs but that was a long time ago.

Halo Infinite did seem a bit messy starting with the Craig reveal. I believe they can do better.

I’m not you though. I believe it failed in some aspects and not all like others are saying. It definitely wasn’t the smoothest release for the franchise.

Im not talking about if it failed in some areas. Im talking about the general statement that "Infinite is a failure".

Just so im clear you dont think infinite is a failure, please give a straight answer.

I don’t believe it’s what Microsoft wanted. Doesn’t mean your a failure though.

I mean the original Xbox surely wasn't profitable. They must of taken a bath on the 360 with all the red ring of death stuff. Xbox one was a distant 3rd in sales. Now series x is a great machine but they can't be making a profit on the box itself considering it's parts. And what are we talking 10-15 million Xbox series sold to date? Offset that to the 100+ billion they have spent on aquisitions, then add on all the money they must be subsidizing for gamepass games. Yeah it doesn't really all add up.

It's like Chelsea football club in the UK. Looks successful from the outside, now we find out the previous owner just ploughed 20 billion of his own money into the club to keep the club going.

I think your forgetting about the billions collected from xbox live gold, and gamepass subs.

Infinite is a categorical failure. Let's move on.

God bless GaaS, you can release a broken, unfinished product and make it work down the line.
