It depends on the game. Some games like COD record well and sone games like Killzone are very unreliable. In my experience at least.
I don't think I'm making myself clear. My question is simple. If I create a custom profile pic, will it show up here...?
Prior to 1.70, if you had your camera off it just showed a placeholder image. Now it shows your PSN avatar. However, if you have a custom profile, will it show that instead? You are looking at your own screen and that's what is being broadcast after all.

Guy streaming earlier had a Donatello (Ninja Turtle) pic showing whilst streaming. I know you can't get turtle avatars here in the UK but what about in the US?

If you set an avatar via the mobile app (which can be whatever you want), it will also set it on PS4.

If anyone took pics of the Blu-ray player UI before 1.70 it'd be nice to compare. I don't remember it looking quite this polished.
They still need to use the PS3's XMB title graphic in place of that low-res disc placeholder though. I'd like it if they brought back the bitrate meter that PS3 has too.

Can you get turtle avatars on the PS3? I don't think we could get them here in the UK and the picture looked kind of 'amateur' and I instantly thought it looked uploaded.
I could be totally wrong of course, it just looked different compared to the other streamers (who all had avatars I recognised).

Do you see the thumbnail in the main PS4 menu/content area as well?
I don't get them at all (for discs that show the thumbnail on PS3).

Nice, Trophies are completely f'ed for me. I'll quote myself from another thread:

Since the update my PS4 always boots to safe mode.
At this point i've tried everything and have no other choice but to reinitialize.

Ground Zeroes played fine for me after 1.70 and the patch. Aside from one weird bug with a marine's legs dropping through the ground and arms contorting round his back. He went back to normal once I got close enough though.

Fonts and icons appear a little less jaggy, clearer in 1.70 too, flicking between the before/after pics. They got rid of the needless shade effect in the bottom left where 'Menu' is showing and swapped the yellow and blue buttons to match their tv remotes.

After the update I have to toggle vibration off and on to get it to work. Maybe they broke something with the light dimming changes.
You can turn them off like the other notifications.

If you allow people to see your real name your profile picture replaces your avatar to them.
You can make it anything though it doesn't have to be your Facebook picture like before.

Just reupload the file, my Trials one failed (everything else from that day saved fine) because it thought there was a conflict of saves between PS4s. I only have one PS4, so I saved over it and everything has been fine since that one incident.

Umm, have you tried adjusting the screen size in the options menu? If I remember correct, inFamous offered this option.

Mine doesn't take nearly that long with just a Sony Memory Stick M2 and USB2 adaptor.
Is your display area set up right?
First of all set your TV to Full Pixel/1:1 pixel mapping if it lets you, then on PS4 expand the white corners right to the edge of the picture.
edit: I had one of several saves for inFAMOUS:SS not upload and when I tapped X on the icon, the error was that another PS4 had uploaded the same save slot and it wasn't sure if I wanted to overwrite it. I only have one PS4 but I did recently initialise (format) it when changing the HDD for an SSD. Maybe online storage doesn't recognise it as the same PS4 because of that.
Another little thing I hope they fix, some text like 'Uploads' in the categories above (also the same layout in Friends and Live From PlayStation) the font looks like it's upscaled when selected instead of increasing font size. So it ends up looking blurry.

hows it useless/brushed under the rug ive used it 30+ times in BF4 and only once did it show different 15mins and that time my PS4 was on for 5/6 hours before i started playing other than that it works flawlessly for me and not lying mate. all i think it needs is to be upped to 1080p rec
I have been messing around with the video recording a bit since the patch, and what I have found so far is that the system will continue to record the last 15 min of gameplay, but it won't automatically start recording. This means that while I have had it continue to record, I have first had to set a start point with a double tap, or open the share menu once. After doing one of those two things, it seems to be fine.
Obviously this isn't ideal, and they still have some work to do on fixing the video recording, but at least it seems consistent so far once it's started.

Edit: Also, just went down to Overview on a game (highlight a game, press down) and I could hear me moving through menus but the cursor was missing and I couldn't back out. Had to reset.
That fixed it it seems. And turning off HDMI Output for audio (which is weird).

This update seems quite messed, they will have to relase another one soon to correct many of the problems that came with it (and some other old ones).
I had the upload saved game problem saying about other PS4 aswell, and I dont have another PS4 and neither formatted mine or changed its original HDD.
Not saying the still very bugged auto recording function.

Share button still records what it wants, not what you want!
Just had a awesome headshot in BF4, a great, a lucky shot, but still great shot. I press share, followed by (square) to save the video. I go back to replay the video, it records everything after the shot. Recorded the big gold battle pack I received right after the shot, and the death streak following, but not the shot.....awesome playstation.

Thats is really ridiculous. Probably the most expected new funciton of the console and still is FAR from working properly.
One thing that I realized yesterday, and seems to "work", is to mannualy activate the video record (in my case double pressing the share button) and let it there till you stop playing or till the moment you want to capture. It will record the 1st 15min and save right away, but just after it, seems the console starts auto recording what happens next.

I spent 20 minutes looking for the stream quality setting, cant find it anywhere. I want to turn it to Max quality, how do I do that again?
