As much as I loved this game, it was the only game of the past generation that made me shout "SHUT UP JUST SHUT UP AND LET ME PLAY!!!" at the TV. (outside of the Xenosagas)

Alright, I have to ask... is Advent Rising in any way, shape, or form worth $9.90? I know it's buggy, I know it's badly designed, but does it do anything clever, or have any redeeming aspects?

The draw of Advent Rising is the production values. It plays out like a fairly high-level sci-fi movie, and there's more high drama and excitement than the majority of games out there. The score is top-notch, too.

Not sure why that would get you excited; you can get Policenauts for ~$10 on Ebay easy. Good luck getting it in English though.

Just finished playing through Psychonauts PC again.. great game. Too bad we'll never get a sequal, but go buy it.. the gameplay is very strong and the story and voice acting is top notch.

Well, I do like epic games, and good music (and have heard good thing about Orson Scott Card's writing), so in addition to Psychonauts, Advent Rising has netted one more sale.

I feel so... so dirty.

I dunno, I really dug Advent Rising -- it's riddled with flaws but has a great story, awesome music and the combat's fun enough to keep you going.
