Publishers/Game Devs are sitting on Gold Mine and aren't taking advantage to make bank (PS5/Xbox Series S-X)

So with both next gen consoles out (PS5 and Xbox Series X/S), it's clear that both consoles are quite powerful to get 60fps in games. Some of the games have received BC patches to run the PS4/Xbox One versions that were originally capped at 30fps to run at uncapped frame rates ultimately running at locked 60fps on PS5 and Xbox Series X. Games like Ghost of Tsushima, Gears of War 5, Days Gone, Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order, Evil Within 2 all provide transformative experience going from 30fps to 60fps. With a huge catalog of critically acclaimed titles in PS4/Xbox One generation, wouldn't it be perfect opportunity for devs/publishers to prioritize and push out patches to unlock frame rates and resolutions for their games for next gen consoles? Games like Shadow of Mordor, Shadow of War, Evil Within 2014 just to name a few could easily hit 60fps on PS5/Xbox Series X if their frame rates were unlocked.

The problem is some games probably will broken when they unlocked the framerate on some point or appear new bugs, some others not, but I'm sure developers dont want risk to have to fix older code.

For what financial benefit? It takes time and money to patch a game. 99% of the people that would want the patch already have these games so it would be unlikely to generate a huge amount of sales. I mean, did you ever skip a game last gen in the hope that it would get a 60fps patch in a few years on the next gen of consoles?

Not true for the games listed, the evidence is in PC.

In fact very few modern games have game logic tied to framerate and pretty much all of them can be played at 60fps without any issues.

Just wait some years

Graphics have been great for at least a decade, the gameplay side of the ball is what needs attention, there are only so many control rooms left to assault/ defend before I lose interest.

Actually yes God of War 2018, I had a feeling the PS5 would brute force the game to 60fps. Sure enough.

I don't remember saying it did, but it improved the experience for me significantly
The implication you make is that the game running in 60 FPS ups the enjoyment factor for you personally.

That's all well and good but when does that sentiment fade in relation to everything everything else the game has to offer?

BC goldmine?

But GAF told me no one cares about BC?
Hell FPS Boost for Series get downplay so heavy I almost believe everyone on GAF has played every single lastgen title, but then i realize they are perpetually posting so thats unlikely.

On Topic
MS BC team need to keep bringing more FPS Boost titles im all in cuz i actually have more time to play GP Titles now.

I don't play games like this often, kinda hate a lot of Sony's "3rd person movie" output to be honest.
But I'm enjoying this as a change of pace.

My favorite game of all time is JSRF you don't gotta tell me "They don't make em like they used to" man.

BC is integral to longevity.

Neo GOW is hardly a change of pace, it does nothing new. The whole game is a dragged out escort mission.

I'm talking about it being a change of pace from what I usually play? Context clues goin over your head?
You're trying really hard to shit on GOW and to be frank I don't care enough about the franchise to warrant the energy my dude.

Well what do you usually play? Ive played Every major release for the last thirty years so I'm trying to pin point what you think is great about GOW. I'm not attacking your taste but lets face it Neo GOW doesn't break any new ground so in that sense what did you find refreshing about it? The Viking vibe? The backtracking? The metroidvania of it all? The kid with an attitude?

My favorite games are DOOM, JSRF, Zelda Wind Waker, SOTC and Bloodborne
(And staying on topic I'd kill for 60fps on Windwaker and Bloodborne)

Make of that what you will. The change of pace for me is literally the "Sony" experience that I don't opt in for most of the time. There are a lot of different games on so many systems that I don't play these types of titles a whole lot.
I played Last of Us 1, I enjoyed it but I know its not a game I'll play again, the same can be said for the uncharted series. They're blockbusters to me, not something I feel like I need to return to often.

As for what is "Great" about God of War, I didn't claim it to be great. I claimed it to be improved, I haven't completed the game yet so I don't have a full opinion on it, and when I tried it at release on base PS4 my MAJOR complaint was the controls and responsiveness of the camera. 60 FPS changes that in a massive way, any game is improved with the input latency reduction and animation fluidity. It plays, so so so much better on PS5 that it made me spend more time with it than I ever would have on PS4, it is that transformative. The action in the first fight alone is really something on a good TV. I highly doubt I will replay this but I get why they are making these kinds of games. They're big action packed adventures with a huge budget behind them.

If you don't like them why don't you play something else? Indie titles cover every base anyways.
