We are excited to announce Railway Empire, a new tycoon simulation game spanning 100 years of American industrialisation, where you will be tasked with building, managing and expanding your railway company utilising all the innovations of the steam engine revolution on Windows PC, Linux, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

In Railway Empire, you will create an elaborate and wide-ranging rail network, purchase over 40 different trains modelled in extraordinary detail, and buy or build railway stations, maintenance buildings, factories and tourist attractions to keep your travel network ahead of the competition. You’ll also need to hire and manage your workforce if you want to ensure an efficient train service, whilst also develop over 300 technologies ranging from mechanical improvements to the trains themselves to workplace infrastructures and advanced amenities as you progress through five eras of technological innovations.

However, you can’t just build and research your way to the top – the competition never sleeps, and to keep your business on track you’ll have to survive against up to three rival tycoons. To get to the top you may have to resort to more cutthroat tactics as you attack and sabotage your opponents through raids and industrial espionage.

Railway Empire is currently planned for a Q1 2018 release.

Interesting, thanks for the heads up. Hopefully it'll be good, but titles from Kalypso Media seem very hit and miss, from what I've experienced. Haven't played a really great railroad tycoon game since Railroad Tycoon 2, back in the day.

This looks amazing! Been hoping for a more fully-fleshed out sequel to Railroad Tycoon II for many years now (could never get into 3) and this looks like it could fit the bill... I'm especially liking the tech tree and the mention of controlling factories.

Oh, this game out... And on consoles, too... Looks pretty cool. The focus seems more on the 'empire' part than the 'engineering' part... Kinda like a Tycoon game or that cool trading game Mashinky.

Don't really know the devs but it's produced by the Kalypso guys (Tropico series). Seems like the devs are a newer German team made from an studio that Kalypso bought and closed, and were known for Sacred series and Patrician series.

Couple reviews in the 80s so far on Metacritic....

One of the reviews, about the console version, said "Railway Empire is simply one of the best real-time strategy experiences that I've ever played on a console and juggling its many rewarding tasks in order to succeed in building a nation is nothing short of satisfying." (Source.) Also the only English review I saw so far.

Looks like it's out on Steam, and Playstation Store in Europe, but nothing on Canadian PSN yet.

Railway Empire lays tracks to new territory. Relive the popular rail simulation game, coming soon to Nintendo Switch!

In Railway Empire, you’re tasked with building a sophisticated rail network, including train stations, maintenance buildings, factories, and landmarks. Improve the efficiency of your company and make it your own with smart organisation, practical routing and personal touches.

Railway Empire Nintendo Switch Edition will feature the Mexico, Great Lakes and Crossing the Andes DLC and is set to be released in the first quarter of 2020

Thanks mods for the title change😸
