Rainbow Six Vegas 1 still has one of the best shooter campaigns of all time

Just wanted to remind ppl about this great game, the campaign was epic with stellar casino atmosphere and shootouts. Glass breaking and rappelling in to save hostages never gets old. The first desert act is an amazing tone setter for the rest of the game. I didn't even play coop, game is quality even in solo. Amazing game, I put it alongside Half Life 2, Doom 2016, Gears 1, Uncharted 2 etc

Been a while since I’ve played Vegas now but I remember it being really fun. I still put Lockdown as my fav R6 game above it but of course it’s going to be subjective, R6 overall has been a fun franchise.

Probably one of my best showings for a multiplayer game. I remember wrecking teams and getting messages on XBL for cheating lol

The single player was great too, and even terrorist hunt could be fun.

Yeah the last run of games where Ubisoft was truly at their pinnacle, those early 360 days with Vegas, Advanced Warfighter, and Double Agent. Then they started that "rapid release" sequel shit where they started releasing games that were more "1.5" than true "2.0" games.

I still come back to this level every couple of years.:

Because the music in it is so good (very "24" soundtrack style) :

This game probably is one of the best uses of Unreal Engine 3 too. It still holds up

I finished it only once but I remember it was amazing !
2nd one wasn't as good right?
It was mostly outdoors, really short and the Coop for some reason was at half the resolution of the SP, it was bad

The MP was good though

as someone born and raised in Vegas, I wish there were more games with Vegas as the setting

Vegas changed the series when it comes to presentation and gameplay mechanics, but I could never get into it. I was addicted too to Black Arrow and playing competitive matches on GameBattles. Vegas just brought on too much camping for me with the over the shoulder corner peaking same reason I never got into GoW competitive multiplayer. Still remember those times fondly though some really big games came out around that time.

Didn't like the RSV1 campaign much at all, well I guess the casino level was cool. Always preferred RSV2 which I felt had superior level design and the customization added lots of replay value even though I could've done without the solo mission which could be hella frustrating and the story was incoherent, like it was written during someone's lunch break.

I remember the demo they released early for the game being really awful and generic which almost made me skip the entire game.

But I’m glad I did because the single player and multiplayer were something I played for Months. I remember the defining moment to me in that game was the casino level where you can crawl around the outside and then crash through the windows in sync as a team to wipe out a set of enemies. At the time it made me feel like a Swat team badass.

I went back and tried to play it a while ago and the games controls were so stiff I couldn’t get back into it. Still very fun for its time.
