Pretty impressive. Thats a 1 second load tops.

The fact that they are so quickly able to make drastic improvements bodes well for how well this gen will age. I am expecting a massive leap in fidelity over ratchet and horizon once devs start to use primitive and mesh shaders and other UE5 engine features at 1440p 30 fps. But I am beginning to think the 22 GBps Kraken compression Cerny talked about was no theoretical PR speak. Devs will figure out a way to hit it.

I dont know if you were part of the Re-RAM squad back in the day but 25 GBps was our big dream. I think we can to 22 GBps by the end of the gen in some games.

Or its after you start the game between levels. Devs can always load next sectionduring cutscenes or gameplay. Smart devs use lot of tricks.

Probably cold boot. RE village is more or less that time, same for miles morales.

I dunno anything about this game, but isn't this just the backgrounds?
If you look at the platform he's standing on it really doesn't change except for the textures essentially.
Not saying it's not impressive, but it's basically more like switching a background gif and then loading assets normally as you move along.

Yeah, I didnt know if this was old, but I dont remember anyone from Insomniac saying GB's loaded and unloaded.

And yes I was part of the Re-RAM squad. It was a bat signal for the other squad to come in and shit in everyone's cereal. So be quiet....lol

Its the stuff in front of and supposedly behind Rivet that we cant see. For the sake of arguments I'll say supposedly. That entire scene way in front of her changes.

It is just a texture swap. Everything is exactly the same but with different textures. Its super fast thou so its impressive but its not a new "level"
