Game actually looks pretty decent. Gonna wait for impressions, but I'm definitely interested. Would love a Switch version

Perhaps no Switch version due to it seeming to require two analogue sticks? No "Sharing the Joy", as it were?

Looks quite fun, I'm getting some Super Monkey Ball Monkey Battle vibes.

Will it have any form of Singleplayer or botmatches ???
Editing this post with what @deformersgame DMed me on Twitter:

The posts are related to offline/bots, neither of which Deformers supports at this time. Deformers is an online multiplayer experience that supports 2, 3, and 4-player splitscreen in a variety of combinations. For example, you could have 4 players on the same PC, XB1, or PS4 playing split-screen, but set it up so 3 players are on one team and the remaining player is on another team with 2 players found online. Depending on the game mode, you could technically play Deathmatch in a 1v1v1v1 setup with only the splitscreen players competing against one another -- or matchmake with up to 4 additional players for 8-way chaos and mayhem!

Regardless of game mode you're playing (there will be 3 available at launch: Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, and Form Ball), please note that you'll need to be connected to the internet to play. Deformers is completely physics-based, and all the physics in the game are simulated on our dedicated servers.

Please also note that at this time we don't necessarily have "AI" support in Deformers, so you won't be able to compete against AI/bot enemies or alongside AI/bot teammates; all games will be teamed up with and against other players (whether they're sitting right next to you on the couch, or found through matchmaking).

It's looks pretty fun! Not my thing, but it looks fun. I'd kill for an Order 1887 sequel, but this one looks solid. Games get delayed all of the time, and since it's a short delay, I don't see any reason for worry.

Hello everyone! The delay will be short, we just need some more time to properly stress-test the game. We will announce the actual and final :) ) release date soon. We are ramping up to do an open beta on Steam, that way we get to test our infrastructure and everyone that wishes to will be able to try it out and discover why we love this game so much. :)

In the meantime, if you want to know more, our designers have been making Defomers University videos that explain various mechanics of the game, starting from the fundamentals and eventually covering advanced topics.

Three episodes so far:

Basic/core mechanics: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cveZdRefMyc
Disasters: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QGbgLwQEHRM
Powers (just uploaded!): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LjHufxtNvLk

Coming up videos will cover Classes, Modes, and much more... stay tuned!

Is it true that this is $30 digitally? I find that odd considering the physical release comes with a steelbook case, soundtrack, stickers, and 4 figures for $40. All of that for only $10 more? I figured the game digitally would be $20.

The game is the same price digital or physical, on all platforms - the collector's edition is $10 more and contains the extra items you list.

I actually am getting interested in it. Kind of pissed that it's a gamestop exclusive along with PS4 Puyo Puyo Tetris and Ultimate Marvel VS Capcom 3. Now I gotta pre order this game. Love my physicals.

Awesome! Hey, I know the Switch isn't getting a version, and this is kind of off topic, but do you have dev kits? How's the dev environment and support? It'd be nice to hear the inside scoop from a big dev, if possible (and you aren't NDA'd)

Thanks!

We are not developing on the Switch at the moment (or have seen anything detailed about it) so I cannot comment on it, but we would love to port Defomers when and if an opportunity arises.

The game always needs a dedicated server to run so you'd still need a wi-fi connection to play, but having players each on their own unit locally and remotely would be very epic. :)

I love it! Ha! I'm sure it's 1080p guys don't worry

On PC we give you every rendering and fidelity option we can (of course), here's a look at those currently:

https://twitter.com/AndreaPessino/status/820413850533044224/photo/1

On consoles, the game runs at 60+ FPS on all platforms. Target resolution is 1080p on PS4 and 900p on XB1 - a dynamic resolution system is used if/when needed to ensure the framerate is maintained. Notice that on XB1 the rendering resolution is 900p, which is then upscaled to 1080p for output.

On regular PS4 it gets 60FPS up to 3 player splitscreen, dips into the 50s in 4 player splitscreen. On PS4 Pro it runs at 60 even in 4 player splitscreen, and with extra graphics quality options automatically enabled.

EDIT: please note that this is how things are right now - I would assume it can only get better, but if something changes please don't yell at me. :)

Switch version when?

They might not get the chance. This game is as niche as a game can be and it is (for the foreseeable future) only on platforms where niche game is a death sentence at retail. if this is retail which i doubt it. I also doubt consumers who play on those platforms primarily will even acknowledge its existence.

That definitely looks fun and unique. I do have a quibble about the UI though. The text for the tribbles looks wayyy too small, making it hard to make out how many of them you have. You also have to move your eyes a little to far to the left to see them. I like having stats as close to where your player is as possible while still keeping that good layout and composition.

Wait, there's 4 player splitscreen (at ~60 fps too)? I'm immediately even more interested in the game now!

I just checked that i have an invitation for Development forums(hidden in Updates tab, gmail), I think i have signed up for a technical stress test, when will that take place? I tried to create a password but nope , the system won't let me and always shows that the link is expired. Any help will be appreciated. I will Pm you my Contact mail Id.

Best of luck for the game!! :)

The disasters look fun.
A Switch version would make sense for this kind of family friendly game.
The controls seem too complicated to only use one joy-con though.

To be fair, they arrived at the "cinematic third person" thing about 5 years too late with The Order... at least they are more on trend looking for a more e-sporty type title.

Yeah if the order would have released in like 2009 it would have been a hit.

Really great to have this information so "readily" available before launch and I commend that.

The game, physics and sheer chaos looks incredible and I am excited to dive into the game, :)
